Stuffs getting real

We registered for the baby this past Sunday and boy did that make me realize, sh!t is getting real! I obviously knew I was pregnant, but for some reason, it never felt real. I would tell my husband in the first few months that I felt like an imposter cause I didn't feel pregnant. We didn't really buy anything yet because we want to wait till the baby shower, so I guess that's why it took so long for it to sink in. Anyone else have a moment where it finally hit them?

Re: Stuffs getting real

  • Yes. I placed a huge Amazon order the other day for all the stuff we're getting for our second. Seeing baby stuff in my house again makes it so real!

  • It wasn't the registering for baby stuff that got me.  But when I would watch my stomach and see a bump coming up at me, like baby boy is trying to fist bump me through my stomach which made me realize holy cow, I'm pregnant and he's coming out soon.  Also the fact that my belly protrudes much farther out now and I feel like I'm carrying a basketball around under my shirt.
  • My moment was just a few minutes ago when the nurse scheduled my April appointments and said, "Oh that's your last month so we have to see you every week." Whoa.
  • Mine was assembling the crib. Like, yep...this is where a baby is going to sleep. And now it's in my house. WEIRD.

  • Mine was when I saw baby girl in 3D/4D. I mean, it felt real before that but seeing her face and how developed she is just made me realize how close I am to meeting this little girl!
  • I was still in denial when they were wheeling me into the OR for my csection.

  • It wasn't registering or getting the babies nursery together but getting to the labor part in all my baby books. Wholly cow! That shit is crazy, and I can't believe I will be going threw it in just a few months.
  • @Motolyn that's what keeps doing it for me. Watching limbs protruding out from my stomach or the whole stomach jiggling and moving like a wave. For some reason seeing it with your eyes makes it much more real than just feeling it.
  • I think the first time it felt real was when I saw my first ultrasound where she actually looked like a baby! And then when I bought my first girl purchase. Crazy to think we will have a little one in a couple of months!
  • When DH and I realized we were not taking our annual vacation in May since we are having a baby, DH said that we would never be on a plane again without having a child. I am not sure why that made it so real, but it did.

  • I still find it hard to wrap my mind around. I'm obsessed with my baby girl and pregnancy and prepping, etc. I watch her play in my belly allll the time, but it's still surreal and I feel like it will be until sweet girl is in my arms. Even then our daughter will probably still feel somewhat surreal for some time thereafter. I'm so excited, it almost feels impossible to have to wait any longer.
  • The hubby and father-in-law painted the nursery and put together the crib this weekend. Now that she has a room and a place to sleep I'm getting even more excited!!! I'm going to be a mommy!!!!!!! :):)
