Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

Post-miscarriage... What did you feel "down there".

I miscarried 5 days ago and it's been one hell of a few days. Emotions aside for a minute, it's been physically draining as well as nerve wrecking not knowing what's normal and what to be concerned about. This was my first miscarriage, first pregnancy and I was 5 1/2 weeks. I miscarried and was in the ER for 6 1/2 hours with extreme bleeding, clots, cramping etc. My body rid itself of all tissue but it was quite an experience. Now, 5 dats later I'm still healing. Cramps are gone and the bleeding has significantly lightened, almost to a brown discharge at this point. BUT, now that the bleeding has slowed and everything's healing, I'm having a weird sensation in my vagina. Anyone else have this? It's rather hard to describe, but it's not a pain, or burning, just a strange feeling. I dreaded this, but finally took a peek with a mirror nod nothing looks red or swollen, but I feel like I can see right into my Vagina now! Could it be from all the tests and exams? In the ER Friday into Saturday, I had 2 internals (that we're by no means QUICK) and then an internal sonogram. Could it be from that? Should I be concerned? What's normal to experience after a MC and when should you be concerned? Thanks in advance.

In general, so you don't get replies too often. I never felt anything like you described, but I also have had problems with excessive bleeding and cramping over a month after a D&C. I don't know that there is any "normal" when it comes to m/c's, but if you suspect an infection you should definitely see your OB. Infections can spread and even affect your fertility in the future, so don't take it lightly. Get it checked out if you aren't sure.
