I suspect it was one of those raw fishes that swam down and nibbled a hole in Luke's belly. KU ladies, you have been warned.

This kid may not have a lot of bowel, but he has plenty of guts! DS born at 34 weeks with (surprise!) gastroschisis turned short bowel syndrome. 131 days in the NICU, 7 trips to the OR, G-button, daily TPN....
We are impatiently awaiting the day we can say goodbye to his girlfriend Ivy for good.
I actually ordered some smoked salmon rolls at the end of my third tri and the dang place refused to serve it to me. "Dangerous!" was the response from the waiter as he pointed to my belly. Ugh.
I got scolded by a man at the deli counter. Pissed me off for days.

I am super paranoid about food safety even when not pregnant. While I love sushi I just couldn't do the raw thing while pregnant without worrying afterward. And to me if you aren't going to eat raw fish the sushi isn't worth it.
I ate it but I'm not one to eat a big slab of raw fish.. I usually go for cooked or at least flash fried options. I avoided some of the fish I knew weren't recommended (high mercury)..
I only eat vegetarian sushi anyway. I followed most rules. Switched to half caff coffee. Drank coffee daily. Ate goat cheese. Drank a glass or 2 wine near end of 3rd Tri. Lunch meat is gross I don't eat it anyway.
