CVS yesterday - now we wait

I had my CVS yesterday afternoon. Doc was terrific, he's done like 25,000 of them in his career, great bedside manner which I really appreciated. I had to go on 24 hours of bed rest immediately following. DH has been terrific, before he left for work this morning we had breakfast together, then he got me set up on the couch with a tray full of food (bread, rolls, crackers, peanut butter, jam, salsa, pears, sliced kiwis, a squash that he roasted, and even 4 Dove chocolates) plus my antibiotics and cough drops (I am still fighting bronchitis, but I'm finally winning). He is bringing home dinner tonight, too. I'm to "take it easy" for the rest of the week, allowed to get on the treadmill again on Saturday.

We should get micro-array results next Tuesday late afternoon (including gender) and then the full results a week after that. And seriously, I still can't really believe I'm pregnant. Is that weird?

Glad to hear things went well :-) Getting nervous about mine; mind if I ask a few questions? Did you drive yourself to the procedure and home again, or did DH drive you? Was yours trans-abdominal or did they go through your cervix? How much pain was involved?

Again, I'm happy to hear you're doing alright...fx for great test results :-)

Good luck with your results, and it sounds like YH was great about it! (My DH could learn a thing or two from him!). I had an amnio at 17w6d, and was so relieved when it was over!

@brittneyandadam, ask away! I walked there (it's less than a mile from our house) and DH met me there in time for the u/s, then drove me home. They told me ahead of time I was not supposed to drive myself home. Mine was transcervical, the doc said the risks are equivalent and it's really all based on where exactly the placenta is at that moment. It was uncomfortable like a Pap smear, I am bad at all that stuff b/c I have vestibulitis, but even for me it was just the slightest bit painful. For someone who doesn't normally have pain upon penetration, it's probably just discomfort.

Btw, the doctor also said that the risk of miscarriage associated with CVS is basically the risk of m/c at that point in the first trimester (approx 2%). And he said that if, heaven forbid, a woman loses the baby after CVS, she was probably going to lose that baby regardless. Which is...oddly comforting.

Thanks so much. You really helped to ease my nerves...they gave me no instructions when I made the appt. I'm hoping that when they call to confirm they'll give me a heads up about all that....we live about 40 miles from the hospital, so maybe ill ask DH to go in to work late so he can bring me down and then back home.
