Is this normal?

Our 16 month old DD is becoming very fresh!  I don't know if she feels the need to compete our 3 year old son, but for about 2 weeks now she has been crazy!  She yells "no!" and "mine!" constantly, especially at him.  For example, they will be on the couch together sharing a blanket and watching Mickey or something, and she loses her crap because he moves and she yells and takes the blanket from him.
I just feel like this is very young.  I am assuming we just have a little freshie on our hands.

Re: Is this normal?

  • Ashley has done this a couple times with younger kids. She got really upset over a bouncy ball the other day and I wasn't expecting it all. Toddlers are freaking hard!

  • Dude Nora has been throwing some wild tantrums lately. I'm so not ready for this!

  • Yea, we had a play date today and Emma didn't want to share any of her toys. It was tantrum city.

  • We get a lot of the no means yes at the moment.
    "Do you want milk?"
    "No! No! No!"
    Gets milk. Happy.

  • I would say it's normal, especially for younger siblings. DS2 is the same way with DS1 but DS1 has had the upper hand for quite some time. DS2 is just old enough now to be more vocal about it and actually fight back.

  • Yeah, DS wasn't like this until he was about 20 months.  Damn, what are we gonna do with these monsters?!
