Fighting fatigue

Any tips for fighting fatigue at work? Im a teacher, so Im on my feet, moving around most days. By lunchtime today, I can barely keep my eyes open. I get a good sleep at night and eat a healthy breakfast and lunch. But I realllllllllllly just want to find a couch and lay down for a nap. But I can't. I don't remember feeling this tired when pg w DD, but I can't say for sure.

Ideas?

Re: Fighting fatigue

  • Have you had your iron-level checked yet? They usually do this around mid-pregnancy and it's very common to have low iron (I just got the call yesterday to start an iron supplement ASAP because my test came back low). I've been reading about iron deficiency during pregnancy and strong fatigue is a common symptom. I know that being pregnant is obviously tiring, but if you are having trouble making it through 1/2 a day, it might be something more than just carrying around a growing baby.

Just something to keep in mind.

  • thats something I hadn't thought of - iron levels. I will ask at my next mw appt. Thx!

And I do eat high protein, low carb, and have been trying to drink lots of water. I make sure I have a bottle on my desk all the time, and have been drinking a lot today.

    Thx!
