Do I tip carpet installers? They're almost done and I guess I need to decide what I'm doing here. I'm so fucking sick of tipping every person who walks in my house.
There are two guys here who are polite but curt (I think because they don't speak much English - they hardly talked to me). We bought from a flooring company, so I'm sure they are paid a wage (prob minimum).
DH says no but I kind of want to I guess, because I wonder if they ever get tipped. I am guessing not, which is why I'm wondering if I should.

Good, now I'm even more confused.
How long will they be there? Can you offer to buy them lunch and give them a pop instead? Kindof like a tip, but not just cash.
2 hours
I'm wondering if I just give them a $20 and tell them it's for both of them for lunch. I've given them bottled water and let them know to leave their shoes on and use the restroom whenever they need. I've been told before that some people are weird about workers using their toilets so it's nice to let them know they can use it.
We hired an electrician, drywall guy, and carpet. All 3 were very expensive, and on top I've:
1. Bought lunch for electrician 2 days because he's amazing and helped us out a lot 2. Tipped drywall delivery guys, because their job sucked, and I was afraid they were going to come back and kill/rob me so I wanted to be extra nice 3. Tipped drywall hangers - they were seedy as fuck and scared me to death 4. Bought lunch for drywall mudders, because I wasn't scared of them, but they were nice and I figured if #2 and #3 got tipped, then it wasn't fair to the nice and professional guys.
Now I'm thinking the same logic - it's bullshit to tip people who suck and scare me, and not tip those who deserve it more for being professional and unscary.
I'm over-thinking it. I'll give them a $20 for lunch. I really hate having people in my home.
@cheeseandrice thanks for your input! speaking of the smell..........did your house smell like a chemical factory, and if so for how long?
It's like, whoa right now.
You can get a smell from the padding. I'm not sure the production of the pad anymore but when I worked in a floorcoverings department it was petroleum based if you got the stuff that had a mesh backing. They offer high density foam now too. Our house smelled a bit like that but wasn't bad. We opened windows.
