I am having my gender reveal party on March 1st, and I want to know if you can help me out with the Ramzi Theory! 

For one of my decorations I am putting out a list of old wives tales to tell gender, and want to add Ramzi theory!

I have attached my trans-vaginal scan at 7 week or so, my invitation to my party and the poster I am making

The Theme is Tutus or Trucks!

Super excited to find out gender at 20 weeks on Feb. 26th!!

I'm definitely not an expert or an ultrasound tech, but I was under the impression that in order for you to be able to tell which side is the left/right side of your uterus in the photo you would have had to ask the tech who performed the scan at the time... So if you don't know that information how could you even speculate?

I didn't know a gender reveal party was a "thing". Now I feel like I got ripped off. All I did was call my friends and family and posted it on Facebook. Lol. No, no. In all seriousness I think your invites are super cute. And so what about the gender stereotypes. That was a ridiculous comment. When you don't know what the sex is THAT IS WHAT YOU DO!

Good lord.  This is all wrong on so many levels.

Formal invites to a party about your kid's genitals?
Deciding that a boy likes trucks and a girl likes tutus?
Thinking an ultrasound can tell you anything about gender?

Just....no.

I have no idea about the Ramzi theory but I LOVE your invites, so cute! I hope you have a great party!

I love your invites!  I totally understand everyone's concern with gender stereotypes; I teach preschool and am constantly having to interject when someone teases a boy for using a pink marker.  I say "There are no girl colors and boy colors, he can use whatever he wants."  I was pleasantly surprised when we brought in a pink dollhouse and the boys were more interested in it than the girls were!  And I had to call my FIL out when he said that if I have a boy he would get a Kitty Cat (kid sized snow mobile); I asked why just if it's a boy?  I silently cringed when he reluctantly agreed that he would get one either way and said he just always pictured girls playing with Easy Bake Ovens. (I think he's pretty relieved that I am in fact having a boy.)

HOWEVER before the baby is born, I feel like it's pretty normal to assume gender stereotypes and I don't see anything wrong with the "trucks or tutus" theme.  Maybe you will have a son who becomes a beautiful ballet dancer or a daughter who just wants to get her awesome 4WD stuck in the mud, but as long as you are supportive when he or she does start to express him or herself, it's no big deal to be team pink or team blue right now. That's just my opinion.

I never under stood gender reveal partie s I personally don 't care that much about someone else's kid to go to a party for announcing their sex organs. I mean, how exactly do I act when you reveal? It's not that exciting. I just came in for the gender vs sex debate. Lol never fails.

I would go for the cake.  Ha, but really my attendance would depend on how close I was to the parents.

My sister, or BFF - sure, I'd be there even though I'd be secretly rolling my eyes the whole time at decorations and games.  But anyone else, I really just don't care that much ESPECIALLY if mom and dad already know the sex and the "reveal" is to everyone else.  If you're going to have a sex reveal, at least wait until then to find out yourself as well and only invite a handful of people that you're really close with because I promise, no one else cares.

Wow @kellyjacob I am sorry that you are getting all this negative feedback. I thought all you asked was for some advice on the Ramzi Theory, or am I reading wrong??? Anyways, I am super excited for you. A baby revealing party seems like a lot of fun and whoever "doesnt care " obviously does not have to attend. If you didn't then fine you can make fun of my invitations, but If you did then you have NO room to talk!

This post was suppose to be so simple! And I figured no one knew about the ramzi theory except my doctor... So yes that was silly of me, but seriously ladies can we tone down the drama?

I don't know about Ramzi but you could do the cabbage test if you want to add another, or heartbeat ranges. have fun.

My nursery has been woodland themes for both kids. My hostess did a rainbow theme for my shower with DD. We did a Teddy Bear theme for the Meet The Baby Party for DS. So, I've always preferred sex neutral.

Honestly, everyone has "room to talk". You posted this hot mess on a public message board...

I don't usually like to comment in the drama post BUT REALLY?! My daughter has danced since she was 2, when I was pregnant with DS I was asked what if HE wants to dance... I didn't get it what did that even mean so what if he wants to dance?! I'd sign him up to dance! Why would that be cause for concern? If you have a healthy child able to prance around in whatever they openly chose to, how is that a concern? My son didn't talk for almost 3 years I cried because I was basically told we would never hear him talk and openly tell me what he wanted. Thankfully he is able to talk and if he asked for a pink tutu to prance around in I would be overjoyed to go out and buy it! Honestly the most rude and snotty comment has to be yours!
