Travel and sleep options

We travel to visit family every few months and we have a week long vacation planned this summer with family. We've bought the Guava travel crib and have been trying to use it for a few months now, last time we used it was over Christmas. DS would sleep in it for 4 -5 hours tops and then refuse to go back to sleep in it. He's very active sleeper and rolls into the sides and wakes himself up. In the past we would transfer him to the rock n play, but at 10 months that's not an option anymore. DS has only co slept twice and isn't a big fan of that either, and being on the bed just gives him more room to roll around! 

I'm getting anxiety about our next weekend trip to see my sisters, what are you using to put your LO to sleep when travling? I've looked at other travel crib options but they're all similar in size to the Guava. I miss having the last resort option of the rock n play when he won't go back down in the crib because co sleeping doesn't seem to work either.

we just have a standard pack and play and then I bought a mattress for it off of amazon. It was only about $30 but it really made a difference in how long he would sleep in it.

We've always used a pack n play with a mattress.  He usually sleeps just fine in it.
