Hi All-
I had posted a few months back about the possibility of working 4/10's- my department was in the process of going through management changes. Now those changes have happened and we received an email mentioning the option of working flexible schedules, but NOT 4/10's.
Now that's off the table, I still want to propose a more flexible schedule to my supervisor that allows me more time with the kids. It still has to be 40hrs and 5 days a week, Just curious about those of you that work a flexible schedule- what does it look like? Anyone work a half day during the week? Just wanted a few examples. Thanks!
Re: Who works a flexible schedule? What does it look like?
When I was still FT my flex schedule was 7 - 4. This meant DH had kid duty in the morning and I got home by 4:30, leaving plenty of time for making dinner, hanging out with the kiddo, etc.
One of my friends worked 9 hour days Mon-Thu and a half day on Friday which worked for her.

Alternatively, what about 1 day a week that is a lot longer so you can cut out earlier a few other days. Also if you can skip or cut lunch depending on how your time is tracked, that can help too. One of my staff regularly skips lunch or just takes 30 min so she can leave early another day or doesn't have to take time for a dr appt or whatever.
but I return to work full time in march and will work 730a to 330p
