My SIL is thinking of using the name River Ray for her baby girl. DH has told her it's awful. How can I tactfully tell her it's horrible. Her other choice is Amelia Ray, which I like much better.

I have a friend who just named her son Timber.

Her reasoning is that the middle name Ray is after her late grandpa and since he liked to fish she thought of River. The sentiment is sweet, but it is not a good name for a girl. If it were boy I could see, but even then it's not great.
