Co-Sleeping to crib

Is going miserably!!   We tried yesterday during his morning nap, he woke up within 15 minutes and was screaming his head off.  We let him go for a few minutes and then I went in to console him, put him back in his crib and he screamed.  Then he jumped up and down in his crib and banged his chin on the rail, it didn't look like he bit his tongue but he was screaming and biting me when I picked him up.  So he fell asleep in my arms, we put him in our bed and he slept for 3 hours.  Last night, same thing, so after 20 minutes of screaming I put him in our bed, out like a light and slept through the night.

Today nap again, same thing... I'm getting frustrated, why does he hate his crib so much?

Help!! Did anyone transition successfully at 12  - 16 months?

Re: Co-Sleeping to crib

  • Routine is very important at our house. We kiss Daddy, say prayers, pee on the potty and do teeth, nighttime diaper and jammies. Then we read the same two books. I lay her down and kiss her and tell her I love her and to have good sleeps.

It was not easy. And to be perfectly honest, she still comes in our bed sometimes in the middle of the night.

For us it was all about baby steps. First goal was to get her to sleep in her bed. Next was to get her to stay there until midnight. Then 1. Then 2. She does STTN about 30% of the time now.
