October 2014 Moms

--How To Use The "Search Function"--

We're all going to battle newbs and drive-bys for the next 7-8 months + and as our LOs are babies so I thought we should get one thing out of the way...

How to use the Search function!

I am going to explain it as using IE and the website, but if you notice using a different internet provider or device (i.e. mobile, etc.) please feel free to add directions.

To the right of the screen there is a "search boards" option. You can type in any mixture of key words: "progesterone" "initial ultrasound" "bloat" "chinese gender chart", you get the idea.

Then in the drop down menu below the search field you can select either "October 2014" to search our board or you can leave it blank and search all the boards, your choice!

If your planning to ask a general question, looking for advice or if you have a subject of interest it might help to take a quick 5 min. to see what the ladies on this board have taken time to respond.

You can also click the magnifying glass next to the page numbers to search just the this board.

On mobile you need to scroll all the way to the bottom, under the row of page numbers there is a magnifying glass.  Some people have just a white box with no magnifying glass, but the button is still there.

ETA:  And if a thread has more than one page there will also be a search icon so you can search through just that thread.

  • I think the search is glitchy, because I've gotten results for other boards, too. It's hit or miss. The searching just one thread is cool, though, I didn't know that one. I wish we could search just the original post sometimes. Like, I want to see other people who asked the same or similar question as I have. Not someone who just mentioned two of the same words deep in a reply somewhere or in a dailiy thread. Sometimes that doesn't help.
