Where to buy baby shower invitations?

My sister is planning my baby shower. When I got married, we made bridal shower invitations that were adorable. It was a kit we ordered online where it came with the paper and we typed in what wording we wanted and printed them at home. My bridesmaids and I all got together one afternoon and had a blast doing them. Wanted to do something similar but I'm having trouble finding the kits that you print at home. They all seem to be ones where you write in all the info with a pen. I wanted something that folds or opens (like a diaper or onesie shape). Any ideas? I'm seeing a lot on Etsy but they print them for you. We also don't want to spend a whole lot and we saved a lot last time making them ourselves.

  • We always buy the digital file on Etsy (usually $7-$20) and you can either print them at home yourself or order them from a photo place.

  • Shutterfly.
You can design them yourself. I think I recently got 50 (baby shower for BFF) for about $30 and they were on my doorstep in 3 days.
  • Minted or Tiny Prints-both are online based paper/stores and you customize the colors and info. Or you could go to Paper Source and get the kits you can assemble-the people who work there are very creative and will help you design an invite too!

This is what my friends & my mom did for both of mine, they turned out great!

I did this for my SIL's baby shower. Super easy!

  • I order a digital file from a store on Etsy and print them off on a high quality cardstock. Most designers on Etsy are very willing and happy to work on customizing something for you. I love TheParchmentPlace.
  • We got our wedding invitations at Michaels with 40% off coupons and you could customize them on the computer and then print them. GL!

  • Love Minted!
  • My cousin is using ETSY for my shower.
  • Vista Print is another option for very affordable and cute invites!  My BFF used VP for my bridal shower invitations and they came out really adorable.  The best part is they often have 50% off or FREE sales (where you only pay shipping)!

Be very careful with Vistaprint, if you get a folded invite they'll tack their name all down the fold and it looks tacky.

Goin' Postal is cheaper and doesn't tack their name all over their prints, so I'd go with them if OP already had a design to send to them.
  • Etsy for sure

  • I second Etsy and Tinyprints. I've had great luck with both of them.
  • Tiny prints or Minted. Google a coupon code :) I've used them both for parties, showers, stationary, and holiday cards and have always been pleased :)
  • I love the ones on Etsy and that is my plan on where I'm ordering from, but I was just at AC Moore I looked at the price of paper(to print myself), envelopes, the actual download price of the invite and then factor in the ink and I'm paying more than if I just have them done at shutterfly or tinyprints. I just got email discounts from both.
Just in case you are trying not to spend too much.
  • Another etsy vote! I used etsy for my wedding invitations, and they turned out great!
  • So if I get a digital file on Etsy, where could I have them printed? Walmart? Would they give me the rights if I even need them? I know I had to have a letter from my photographer to print my wedding pics, is it the same thing?

You could try Kinko's. I also email sellers to see if they will print for me. Most of the time, they will!
