My first shower is in two weeks!  Woo hoo!  (It is a flight away back home so we had to do it a little early)  Do y'all have any good ideas for hostess gifts?  TIA!

I was thinking about getting a basket of chocolate dipped caramel pretzels from My Chocolate Affair. They are the best ever and have a ton of other choices too.

For my wedding showers, I got the hostesses an embroidered pillow from the city she was from, and I plan on doing the same for my baby shower. Here's the link:

Probably soap or something from bath and body works. Maybe candles. Maybe a gift card. I like the infinity scarf idea. I'm not sure, maybe I'll do all of them. Hmm...

For my bridal shower, I bought my sis and bridesmaids each a pretty coffee mug. I don't think I bought a hostess gift for any of my baby showers... :-/

ETA: that face is directed at me and my questionable etiquette. I don't remember why I didn't buy them anything, just didn't seem appropriate I guess?!

Same here but what a good idea! Will definitely get something for my mom and sisters. Maybe massages or pedis.

For my SIL, I am going to get her a gift cert to a local spa. For my friend hosting my friend's shower I will probably do a restaurant gift card.

I've never heard of this before, but since it's my mom and my MIL doing it I'll get them something. Not to sound like a moron but do you give it to them at the shower or privately? I know with my side my moms the host she's the only one on the invite, but I know my Aunts are helping but didn't want to be recognized for it, maybe I'll get each Aunt a candle or something. I'm not sure who is all helping my MIL with it. She doesn't say too much about it.

I just threw my friend a baby shower and she got me bath stuff and lotion from lush.

Booze is always good, or man/pedi.

I thought this may be kind of cute for a shower (could be used for wedding or baby.)

Thanks for all the great ideas! It's hard when they have different personalities. I think I'll do fancy candles. Lauren1102 you usually give them at the shower but not publicly. Maybe once everyone leaves.

I didn't even think about this nor have I heard if it before.
Any shower I have hosted or helped with I didn't receive a gift from the bride.
It is a nice gesture and I would like to do a little something for my Mom and Aunt.

My first PG, 9 years ago....I got my sister a really expensive bottle of tequila and wrote her a card that apparently tugged the heart strings.

Got really nice bottles of wine for my stepmother, who assisted.

It appears that this time, I have absolutely no choice but to attend a "sprinkle/celebration for me", which is an effing disguise for a shower, it will be thrown by my two youngest sisters (who will also be Godmothers)...I am getting one an Alex and Ani bracelet (the Godmother) charm....and the other, I have no idea.

I made baskets of "pampering" items for mine (fuzzy socks, candle, nail polish, etc).

My sister and sister-in-law hosted my bridal shower and I brought them a bouquet of flowers with a vase for their house as a thank you.

My mom is mainly planning my baby shower and I was planning on doing the same thing for her.

At my bridal shower, I got there about 10-15 mins early and gave the hosts their gift when I walked in. I think privately is more meaningful. (I also think doing it after looks like you forgot to do it) I was planning on getting candles but if there's a a group that helped, you could do assorted fancy nuts and pretzels, etc. and they can share it since the number of people are unknown to you. But I think everyone loves getting a candle!

I didn't either. I don't think my hostesses necessarily expected anything, but since they were bridesmaids, they got presents for being in the wedding. That totally counts, right?

For my wedding shower, I made sure to get a pic of me with the hostesses at the shower and then framed a copy for each one of them.

I was just wondering about this because the same aunts that threw my bridal shower are throwing my baby shower.

All my aunts love to garden so for the bridal shower I got them these unique handmade pots for various outdoor plants that were really pretty. I remember being really excited about the idea because it fit them all really well. I'm struggling with ideas for the baby shower so I'm glad this got posted!!

Thanks for posting this and for the great ideas....I hadn't given this too much thought yet.  I'm a little foggy on exactly who all is involved in planning mine, guess it's best to get a few extra gifts?
