anyone find childcare in a home setting ?? daycare hours won't work for me

due this month and back to work 10 wks later --as a ftm with some help
coming in the fall (my mom movin to area!) I am kind of stumped now for childcare -- have started to investigate the nanny route , looked at a daycare -- I occasionally have to work until 8p so a daycare won't really work and personal nanny is a bit costly.. how bout those women who watch a few kids in their own home ?? anyone doing that and how the heck can I find them these days?? I suppose word of mouth is best-- not so sure about craigslist anymore ... feeling like my preggo brain is maxed out on problem solving/planning ! any input ?? thanks all ;)

  • County websites should have a list of state lisenced day cares

  • Don't rule out daycare centers. If i ever have to pick dd up late her head teacher will take her home with her until i can get there because we've built that kind of relationship. Also, you could arrange for a friend or someone to pick her up.if yoh have to be late.
  • One of my friends babysits at her home and that is who I use now but I have always used some who babysits at their home. Make sure you visit the home and you are comfortable with it and if you don't know the person get references. The best way I have found people to watch my DD's is to ask around on Facebook. I will ask people I know if they know of anyone who babysits and go from there. You can also try those websites, I used one once and found someone really good that way as well.
