Braxton hicks?!

I'm due may 1st and just started Braxton hicks this week (7 month mark) I've already been to dr cause I was freaking out. I read about it and know its normal but feeling it is another thing! He said I'm good and they measured my cervix ( nice long and thick at my 20 w) he said just body toning up... Does anyone else any experience with the annoying devils?

Re: Braxton hicks?!

  • I've had them since 18 weeks.  They started at 25 weeks with my first.

You definitely aren't alone - people post about them here all the time!

I've been having them since the first tri. They are kind of annoying, but oh well. Comes with the territory.
Similar to MrsT2000, they started later with my first.

  • I haven't had any! I keep wondering if different feelings are these mysterious BHs and my friends just tell me "you'll know."

you likely will just know.  your uterus gets rock hard - kind of hard to miss (if you get them) :)  Some people don't get them though.

  • Same here-third pregnancy started at 20 weeks. Annoying as heck. My mw said all women get them but some never feel them. Just drink plenty of water and try and build in times to put your feet up throughout the day.
  • I never had any that I felt with DD. But, with this little fella, I get them almost everyday. Some if them, though not "painful" are nothing to joke about. Stress seems to bring them on too.
  • I have them a lot lately been having them for weeks now I'm currently 26 weeks and they take my breath away every time. I get about 20 a day

  • I had like, one with my fist pregnancy. I've been having them a TON with this one. It is really freaking me out, but supposedly normal. Today someone touched my stomach at work and was like 'wow it's so hard!'. Yep, because it tightens like that ever. Single. Time. It is only driving me nuts because I notice it and it's so different than my last pregnancy.
  • I started getting them around 18 weeks or so. They still worry me even though I know they're normal. I also always get them (weird) when I have to pee. I normally roll over or change position, drink some water and that helps. Try not to worry, wishful thinking but maybe it will mean you'll be able to push baby out easier when it's time!
  • I've been having them occasionally for at least a month now. It seems like it's mostly when I get up from a sitting position. I hardly ever had them with my first pregnancy. But if they are toning the pushing muscles up at all, I am all for them.

I've been having them since 18 weeks. As long as they aren't regular and increasing (to where you can time them), they ease up when you change position, and aren't painful, then you're OK.

  • I get them more when I'm over doing it. I think it's my body's way of telling me to slow my roll. I got them with DS but it was later on.

  • Yep! I get them a lot and have been for a while now. You definitely will know when they're the real thing, much more intense. I get BH more when I have to pee or if I need to drink more water.
