Adoption

I just have no faith in this county

We are "on-call" for a likely bounce back of our 4yr old FD and her 2yr old brother. Frankly, I don't have faith that the County and CPS will do what's right. I have experience with them waiting and waiting to pull the 4yr from a kinship placement until there were multiple CPS calls on facial bruising. She actually came to us with a black eye. To make things worse, court to give biomom her full rights back is March 24th and we fear that the County is so ready to get rid of this 8yr case that they're going to brush things under the rug. Often I think the system (our County specifically) is the worst part about this experience.

Yes, I know they have to investigate and that sometimes things are unfounded. Regardless, I no longer trust this county.

Re: I just have no faith in this county

  • I hope the county makes the right call for the best interest of the child.  What you're going through is one of my biggest fears about the fostering experience.   Sending T&P to you.

  • Wow - how crazy! I'm not familiar with Fostering at all but that sounds just crazy to me.  And I'm afraid that this kind of situation happens all too often.  Definite T&P for you and the children!

    5/10 - Gideon 6/12 Warren
4/11 Started adoption process for 2 siblings through DCF. 10/12 Found out we are licensed! 12/14 Brought 3 week old identical twin girls home from the hospital.  Could be at least until Summer 1015 til we know if they are forever ours
  • This happens all too often
  • Sounds like we live in the same county.

    Prayers going up.
Proud 40 year old, first time daddy!
  • Thanks for all the T&Ps. We can use them. This weekend we set their room back up just the way it looked before. We'll see how this goes. It's just sad for all the kids this happens to.
