Using the cartwheel app!! Is it too soon to be looking for a convertible? We are in a Britax b-safe right now. STM's what are your thoughts?!? (LO is really tall- in the 95th%).
I'm a FTM. We have the same car seat and I've been looking at target this week because of the 20% off... I'm so clueless though. I've been reading a lot of reviews and the chicco nextfit seems to be very popular. And.. I can't remember the other ones. Ha anyway, you can always just buy the seat and store it for awhile. I'm sure we will make the switch between 9-12 months. Maybe?
I'm so glad you posted this! I have a $40 gift card to use on top of the sale and coupon, so I've been eyeing a convertible seat, too. My biggest question is, what's the difference price-wise? I've seen some for $300 and a couple for $50. And a million in between. I have no idea how to shop for these!
The gift card was given to me by my MIL to buy clothes, but that requires me coming to terms with my new size, so that's a big nope octopus (drink!)
I like the diono that someone (maybe crunchy mama) recommended. Their seat is good for 5-120 pounds and if it's in a crash with the child in it, they replace for free. (at least that's what I'm reading on their website)
I have been looking at the Britax Frontier and the Diono Radian. The Target I go to is small and doesn't have much of a selection. So, we are going on Saturday to a Super Target to look. I honestly don't know which one to go with though.
I am pretty sure by 6 months we'll be making the switch. Sad.
My understanding (when I asked a target employee) is they don't carry the diono in stores. I want to be able to plop her butt in one to see how she sits/fits. BRU didn't have it in store either. Maybe BBB? But we don't have those in OK.
We also have the B-Safe. DS is almost 18 lbs already. ;( I've been researching online and I think we've narrowed it down to the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Convertible car seat. https://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=17059586 Although I don't think Target carries it, especially not our local Target (Canada). It's hard to choose one. I don't really want to put a price on my child's safety.

Yeah I realized I didn't clarify in my post that I was looking for the Diono on Amazon. Just too lazy to edit it haha. I may go to BBB this weekend and look to see if they have it, it'll be 20% off there as well with the store coupon.
Definitely not too early to be looking. My older DD was tall and she was switched to a convertible at 7 mo because she outgrew by length. I suspect DS is going to outgrow it even faster, but due to weight. DS is getting DD's convertible, but we got DD a Graco Nautilus do that she can stay in the 5 point harness longer. I bought it a couple days ago and using the cartwheel app, it was under $100, which is pretty amazing for that chair, but no use to you guys looking for convertibles since that chair can't be put backwards. As far as which chair to get, I recommend reading lots of reviews and finding one to try out IRL before buying. This is something you'll be using daily for years.

We're buying our convertible very soon. Going to make the switch once the weather is nice. His baby seat goes to 30 lbs or 30 inches so it's not about growing out of it....just convenience in the cold weather. He's already getting really heavy to lug that thing around. I've done a cap ton of obsessive research and we are getting the Nextfit. It goes FF to 65 lbs. We can have that thing forever If you all haven't joined the FB page Car Seats for the Littles i HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. I've learned so much by just reading posts. (link in sticky up top) You can even post baby's stats and they will help rrecommend a seat that works with you vehicle and budget.

You beat me to it @elllaf! Deft check out car seat for the littles on FB for a recommended seat based on your LOs stats. They can name a couple options for you to keep your LO rear facing as long as possible, new recommendation is at least until 2. We're also looking at the Chicco next fit or the maxi cosi pria.
@jnsmith85 I suppose I wasn't clear either. I want to sit her butt in the seat before I buy one. They do have them online everywhere; just not in stores.

I saw today that It's on Amazon for $100 cheaper anyways! $269 And free shipping!
Awesome! I'll probably order it online, too. I'm one of those people who finds what I want in the store and then order it online because I'm a bargain shopper/cheap ass.
We have decided in the radian, just watching for a good deal since ds still has one more harness notch in the infant seat. It is getting seriously hard to carry him around in that stinking thing
