STMs - if you had bad travelers

If you have a child that didn't travel well, did they eventually get better? Is it just a thing all kids do? DS doesn't like to sit in the seat for too long but there's so many things we want to do this summer that require lots of driving. I give toys but he eventually throws them & I'm forever reaching back to give them back to him. I need to figure out a way to attach the toys to the seat somehow. What do naps look like in a 15 month old?

    I'm interested in what kind of answers you get.  We'll be taking a 24 hour round trip when DS is 14 months, and he hates being in the carseat too.  I'm super nervous that he's gonna scream the whole way, because that's what happened when we took a 7 hour round trip a few months ago :(.  The trip ended up taking about 5 hours each way because we had to stop so much.

    I always tried to travel during naps. I would get them in the car like 15 minutes before their normal nap times so they had some time to adjust to being in the car and they usually slept for at least an hour. Crank the heat up and put nice muted music on. With my 3 year old he has gone through phases over the years... he sleeps well in the car for a few months then doesn't then goes back to doing well again. I am so glad he is old enough to just watch a movie on our portable dvd player now!

    DD#1 was horrible in her carseat since the day she was brought home in the car.  Even at 2.5yrs she is a little stinker. I always have snacks, milk, water and her DVD player. For trips where my Husband is with us I sit in the third row and she is fine. Mostly just winey and complaining these days. She doesn't sleep well in the car. We have done the same 8/9 hour drive to my parents 3 times and it always takes about 12 hours and she has stayed up the whole ride the last two times. Giving her a new small toy every hour saved my sanity.  That drive takes a lot out of everyone. 

    DD#2 great in the car...little angel and sleeps like an angel.
