Valentine's day

So I am not big on Valentine's day...we never go out or really do anything "special." And please, don't waste your money on those overpriced flowers. I do, however, appreciate a little something for the day. What do you ladies like to get?
I am hoping DH will bring me home a giant chocolate malt from Culver's and a bag of Sour Patch Kids or Starburst. I'm pretty simple to please!

I really want to do a couples massage. We don't need more "stuff" just for the sake of a fake holiday.

Unless he wants to get me jewelry, of course.

Unfortunately, I'm the romantic in our family, and DH sucks at coming up with anything.  He forgot about Valentine's Day til yesterday, and then it was "Oh yeah, that's coming up."  I've learned not to get my hopes up for Valentine's generally, I'll be happy to go to dinner without DS, but we'll see how well that works out.

we will be hosting a babysitting fundraiser with the teens in our youth group...so nothing romantic this year.

neither of us are really into going above and beyond for any "holiday".  we are strapped for cash right now, so i am not expecting anything from dh and realistically, he has been so accommodating to my pregnancy misery and reckless spending on eating out when i was too sick to pack my lunches in the morning, that i'd be pretty selfish to demand much.

however! i am surprising him with this keychain i found on etsy.  it's a copper guitar pick and it will have our initials, our wedding date and a small quote from a favorite song.
im terrible at surprises, so i can't wait for it to get here so i can just give it to him!

We are going to White Castle For Valentine's Day they put out tablecloths and take reservations. It's the 2nd year in a row we've gone. 

No gifts for me. Maybe something for the doggie since he can't come to dinner with us.

I saw those when I was browsing etsy this morning! My husband isn't musical so it wouldn't work for him. He probably wouldn't know what it was, ha. I hope yours loves it!

It's so bad for you, but oh so good. I hope they expand to your area soon. It seems like they are constantly opening in more places!

We typically just do a card and then something small - I prefer candy or chocolate, I usually get DH a pair of themed boxers as a fun gift. Our DS was born on Valentine's Day so we end up making the day more about him and his birthday usually.

I keep seeing Sherri's Berries commercials so I told him I want 3,000 of those. He may get a BJ if he pulls through.

We usually don't do much, we used to just go out to dinner and DH would get me roses. Last year we just ordered take out and had dinner at home since we had DD.

No idea this year.. Probably just getting take out again. I told DH not to get me flowers, I work from home now and my cats will just eat them so I will have to lock them in a bathroom or something. I did, however, hint heavily (by that I mean flat out told him) that I would love an Edible Arrangement or some kind of chocolate covered strawberries.

I do love chocolate covered strawberries and pineapple. We usually make our own. Some chocolate chips, a little butter and some milk melted together and your done. A heck of a lot cheaper too!

DH and I are foodies. So we don't do gifts, but DH always makes reservation for a really nice restaurant and we go and eat whatever we want and get a bottle of wine without stressing about the bill. Like I would normally never order "surf and turf" at a restaurant, but that's my usual for valentines day. Bonus: This year should actually be less expensive since we won't be getting a bottle of wine.

We will prob go out to eat but that is it. We don't do anything big for each other but definitely use it as a night out from the kids:).

Usually, we cook at home together for V-day. We like to try a new and fancy recipe, and we take a bath together. It's not terribly elaborate, but the bonding time is meaningful.

We exchange cards. Some years we do little presents but probably not this year because we did big gifts for Chistmas.

Melting pot reservations! I have been thinking about putting all sorts of things in chocolate and cheese for weeks now!

Edited because my pregnancy brain put simply fondue instead of melting pot. It's melting pot.

My husband always cooks for Valentine's Day and we'll exchange candy or something, but we don't do gifts.

We don't usually make a big deal out of Valentine's Day. The most we typically do is a card, maybe some chocolate for a treat or a small Dunkin' Donuts gift card, that kind of thing.

I'll just be happy if MH doesn't forget Valentine's Day this year...again.

Is it sad that the only plans I have are with dd? We were invited to a kids valentines party, so we'll do that during the day. No idea what, if anything, is happening with Dh. I'll leave that up to him.

After my last Edible Arrangement and all the hints about how good it was I am realy hoping for that over flowers.  DH will be out of town on V-Dayy so DS and I will probably have a nice mother son dinner.

We just go out to dinner and exchange cards and small gifts. It's a total Hallmark holiday, but I like the excuse for a nice date night because we usually don't make time for that enough!

A cute diaper bag!  Purchases are generally baby related these days.  And I'm giving DH a gift card to his favorite BBQ place.

We don't do anything, but DH said he is going to get me Dunkin Donuts because I could live on donuts right now

Idk what my man is planning especially since I know he's proposing awhile from now, so I don't expect anything big for valentines day. But we've never done valentines day except exchange cards. We did just have our anniversary and haven't gone out to dinner yet (been way to busy lately). So we might just do a nice dinner and movies or something. I do plan on getting him a gift certificate for a massage. He's been working so hard and doing so much for me I want him to feel super appreciated and pampered.

My birthday is the day before V-Day so we have our nice dinner on my birthday. But on Valentine's I still like to at least get takeout  :x  ">

This. Why do you have to bring up Culvers so those of us sans one can suffer cravings of chocolate malts, butter burgers, and cheese curds. Thank god I'm Sconnie bound in two weeks.

DH hates it. But I kind of like it. All I really care for are chocolates!

This year he did get me some Girl Scout Cookies from Texas that should be arriving tomorrow! It's all I talk about (Oregon doesn't start selling them till the 14th). So that was awesome!
