@mcrib or anyone else casein free

So we did a trial of no casein with dd and her tummy was no longer distended. we gave her some cheese and yogurt yesterday and she was up all night with terrible gas. :( I'm at a loss on how to get her adequate protein now. she doesn't eat meat by choice so we were using kefir, yogurt and cheese to make up for it. she needs a protein rich diet for her seizure meds to be effective and I'm at a loss how to meet that. the only foods she will eat are fruits, vegetables (though unfortunately beans are only a sporadic choice), cereal, veggie sticks, pasta occasionally and dairy. she doesn't even eat bread products or even cake--weirdest kid ever. lol. any food recs/recipe ideas?

    Could she be lactose intolerant?

Both of my nieces are and were from a very young age; their dad is half Lenape. The older one is a major foodie and manages her love of cheese with enzymes.

Can she do soy? Tofu, soy cheese and soy yogurt are available. How about nuts/seeds? Would her neurologist turf you to an RD to help create a diet for her?
Now that i think about it possibly. dh accidentally gave her kefir the other night with her nighttime meds out of habit and she was fine that night. it was only last night when she had yogurt and cheese did she react. maybe ill do a trial of kefir only and see how it goes. i called my pedi and set an appointment to get a referral to a dietician. we had a great one in ei as dd was underweight but she's aged out. boo.
