Headaches

This is the second time(meaning I had it after my last baby as well and it latest quite a few weeks ) that I come down with quite a tension headache 2 weeks postnatal. My blood pressure is fine and I am not depressed or so . I just hoped this time round it will not come back .. But it did. It's pretty frustrating . Anyone else suffer from this ? Could it be from nursing ? The change of hormones ? Usually I never suffer from headaches .

Re: Headaches

  • It happened to me too and I knew it would bc I had a terrible headache coming off the pill. For me it is hormonal. It seems to be getting a lot better now and baby will be 3 weeks old tomorrow.

  • Make sure you are drinking enough water especially if nursing.

  • I noticed I had a headache after, for about 2 weeks. I took Tylenol. Now 4 weeks later, it's gone. Feel better.
  • I am sorry to hear that more people suffer from that ... But at least I feel not so alone with this problem . I don't know why, but I don't like this idea of painkillers . Worried that I may get addicted to them! How quickly could this happen?? Still when it gets to bad ( it's very frustrating ) I do take painkillers . I def do drink enough now with the nursing !! Wish you all better !
  • I'm also having frequent headaches, mostly at night. I am 4 weeks pp and have had the headaches for the last week. I am trying to stay hydrated and end up taking Tylenol before they get worse as the other night I was up in tears in pain and wanting so badly to be able to sleep!

You cannot get addicted to Tylenol or Motrin. Don't make yourself suffer! Take something to get relief. It also will not hurt baby to take any of those if you are nursing.

    BFP #1 (7/13/12) MC (8/14) 9 weeks. D & C 8/17.
BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
    Its a surprise! Team green!

Thank you my dear ! I think that's what I needed to hear . DH kept saying it... But I somehow did not take it on board yet. I will go with painkillers now . Still hope it will soon go by itself. It's quite a bit something this postnatal time!! You would think straight after birth you are all done . But it still takes it's toll on the body. This is my 6. Child , but you keep forgetting what it's like . Thanks for your support ladies
