This one is kind of lame, but oh well. I know some people consider sleeping through the night as 7-7 or something similar, but that is not what it means to me. To me, if LO is asleep when I go to bed and wakes up around 6 or 7 am, he is sleeping through the night.
I have another one, but I'm not sure if it will be a popular opinion or unpopular opinion. I think it's commendable that CVS has decided to stop selling tobacco products later this year because they feel it doesn't match their purpose as a healthcare store. They understand they will lose revenue but made the decision anyway. (I'm not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to buy their cigarettes if they want; there are so many other places they can still buy them.)
@bc&lm i agree with your idea of sleeping through the night. I put J down around 6-630 but i go to bed when he wakes up around 930 pm. I dont mind feeding him at 930 but all of the feedings after that id like to cut out. Id like him to sleep after that. Dont get me wrong 6-6 would be great but id take 9-6 like he used to do. Sigh. Those were the days.
Yeah, our LO usually falls asleep sometime between 7-9. Then we wake him for a "sleep feed" around 10 or so. Then he will sleep through until 6 or 7. But I don't count it as not sleeping through the night because we wake him at 10 to feed him because we haven't even gone to bed yet. Someone posted a poll a month or two ago asking if babies were sleeping through the night, and she defined it as 12 hours! I thought that was a bit much.
Anyone follow the biggest loser? NBC should be ashamed of themselves for allowing people to push themselves that far in such a short amount of time in the name of entertainment.
I'm spring shopping for the girls clothes and I really dislike the selection. My 3 year old doesn't need shirts with so much writing on them. Yes her mom (me) is awesome, pretty, and daddy loves her we get it. I guess I like simple. .... Is this considered an UO??
My UO is that I think all our babies could go 10-12 hour without eating if you are willing to work on it. I'm not saying anyone NEEDS to night wean, but at this point I think it is the parent's choice, not the baby. I personally am lazy so we still have one night feed feed.
@34blondie The looks on Bob and Jillian's face. They looked scared for her. As they should.
Definitely. It's obvious the trainers didn't encourage this and she did the rest at home unsupervised for a few months. That said, the challenge is to lose the most and she won and there is a flaw in that model. I hope the network and her trainer follow up with her.
Rachel looked so sickly. I get that she wanted to win, but it's so unhealthy. I really hope she can put some weight on and work on being healthy.

Agree. I get really tired of baby clothes that all have sayings on them too.
ETA: of course the occasional shirt is cool but seems like almost all of them are like that now.
I didn't see the Biggest Loser show mentioned above but I always thought it was mean that they are forced to take their shirt off to get weighed on national television.

how many months was it?
from the time they start filming to finale its between 8-9 months.
i have been watching biggest loser since it started and this was honestly the first time I have ever seen anyone look so sickly at the finale. Someone from the show should have been supervising her and told her to stop losing weight. She has almost no fat on her body and nothing about her appearance was healthy looking. I think she took it to serious and to far and pray she pits some weight back on now that the show is over. You could totally tell that Bob and Jillian were shocked and concerned for her when she came out.
I think some of the questions that are posted would have been better as polls. I like seeing the results at the top instead of scrolling through a bunch of yes/no answers.

I find baby gap has the some of the nicest clothes for this reason. But I will only shop on the sale rack.... When it's an additional 40% off because I'm not spending more on my baby then I spend on myself.

About the biggest loser chick I saw her arms and kind of thought the same thing. However, I think it depends on a persons body type. I have fairly thin arms and am hippy so my bottom is always bigger than my top. I also tend to lose from the top faster and easier (unfortunately) than my bottom. With that in mind it's hard for me to judge right away that she has an eating disorder... Maybe, maybe not.
Rachel is definitely underweight. She's 5'4" and only 105 lbs. She might not have an eating disorder. She most likely did it to win. I'm hoping that she puts on at least 15 lbs. She's only 24, but she looks way older. I thought she looked pretty in the second to last episode, but in the finale, I thought she looked scary. I actually gasped.
Tumi, on the other hand, looked great! I'm happy that she won the $100,000 at-home prize.
@sctiger one of my mom's friends gave me a side eye because I'm planning on sending DD to an "unlicensed" daycare. She made it seem like I was being irresponsible. It's not illegal or sketchy. Legally daycares with 10 or less kids don't need to be licensed. I would much rather send DD to someone who I know personally and trust (and who all my friends have loved).
Well, I'm the minority here....I actually think that girl who won biggest loser looked great!! I don't think she looked sick at all!
If you eat right, and exercise, I see nothing wrong with loosing that much weight. A long as it was healthy.
I also don't care for that cookie butter. After everyone raved about it, I bought some...worst 4$ I've spent!
I'm glad somebody posted her height - I was curious. I think it really depends on your frame etc. My family is tiny. My mother is an inch shorter than the biggest loser girl and weighs 5-10lbs less. I am 3" taller than her and weigh the same. We're both very healthy people, and aren't on crazy restrictive (or any) diets. Maybe that's why I thought she looked good? I don't think I look anorexic or anything crazy - and I've struggled with weight issues a lot. I think people need to just let it go.
We went and got valentines days pictures taken and part of the package was 20 valentines day cards. We partly did it for the valentines day cards because my family would love that and I couldn't pass up an awesome package for only $14!!

Why would you want LO to sleep 10-12 hours? Why push them to do it? As long as they are getting enough sleep in a 24 period that's what matters. Do you go 10-12 hrs with out eating? I don't. Why would j push my LO to?

+1
glad I read all the words because I was going to pretty much say everything you said
105 lbs at 5'-4"? I believe another 5'-5" (like me) Momma on here was told our weight should be 125 lb.... that's SCARY small. Heck, I looked sickly at 133 lbs and I'm a tiny framed person. 105 at that height is NOT HEALTHY.
I think business (private business) should have a system for weather closures allowing salaried employees to be paid without using general PTO. If states are declaring states of emergency and closing highways, you should NOT be asking your employees to drive in or use up the pittance of PTO they get.

I think it really depends on the baby. My LO could maybe go ten hours without eating, but I think 12 is pushing it for him at his age. I don't even go 12 hours without eating; why would I expect him to do so?
I don't watch the Biggest Loser but given the premise of the show it was only a matter of time before one of the contestants developed an eating disorder, no much how much emphasis they put on healthy habits.
My UO is probably very unpopular for the June board. I don't like cookie butter.
Edit: I suck at adding gifs
I've never had it. I never even heard of it until I read about it on the boards last week. I read it tastes like gingerbread. Is that true? If so, I doubt I'd like it. I don't particularly like gingerbread.

I mean if I eat dinner at 7:00, I don't eat breakfast usually til 8 or 9 the next morning. So I go 13/14 hours without eating. I don't think every baby is ready to go 12 hours without eating at this age, but I don't really understand the "I don't, so why should they?" logic here. Plenty of babies are capable of sleeping that long at night without eating. E normally goes to bed between 8-8:30 and doesn't make a peep til 8-8:30 in the morning. I swear that is not a brag, just an individual example. She did that even before sleep training and before object permanence happened, so yes it is "normal", but not necessarily the "norm", KWIM?
I hate most little girls clothes. There are some that are cute, but I don't think a 3 year old needs to be wearing clothes that look like what a teenager should wear. I don't feel teenagers should be looking like strippers either, but they can make that decision when they get to that point. Personally, Lily will not leave the house with a low cut top and no undershirt, a skirt where I can see her booty, or leggings that I can see through. Dressing a little more conservative has not killed anyone and can make a girl look classier.
While I think teachers are underpaid in some states, the content bitching (by some- not on here) gets annoying. Most people think they are underpaid and don't only have to work 185 days a year with a pension. My parents were both teachers so I do understand taking work home etc, but still you know that going into the field.
Seriously. I saw my family teaching (mom, stepfather, stepsister, uncle, and on and on). I chose not to teach for some of the things I saw and dealt with growing up. My current field has it's issues and I will occasionally vent about them, but I don't spend all my time online venting and complaining and acting like I have it worse than every other profession. One of my BFs is a teacher and I'd say every other status post on FB is a complaint about it. The remaining 50% of statuses seem to be complaints too... but I think I vent about my job maybe... 10% of the time or less? And I feel like there's a few professions you know the deal with salaries, etc going in very well- teaching being one of them. My profession is rumored to be high paying but that really isn't the case (you make average pay, not terrible, but not luxury living) unless you're a celebrity version (aka Frank Gehry, Santiago Calatrava, etc). And teachers that say they don't get vacations? You have the majority of 2-3 months off a year. Yes, you have to fill in with continuing education training, but many fields you have to do that anyway on top of your regular 40/52 and pay for it yourself and occasionally even use your PTO to go to it.

Agreed. I also majorly side-eye people bitching about work on Facebook, just makes me nervous. You never know who knows who and things can get out so quickly.
I don't mind MOTN nursing. I don't want to do like 20, but one or two still makes me happy. I know it will disappear in a month or two based on my older son and DH says this is our last. Lo is so soft and cuddly and beautiful at 3 am so I'm cherishing those moments because they will never happen again for me. And now I'm crying.

Yes! I am an architect as well and it drives me crazy when people assume that architecture is a high paying job! I do ok, but I do get annoyed with the engineers make 1.5xs what I do, had less school (and student debt), have less experience, and have less responsibility on projects...
