Hi questions after IUI

Hi. My name is melissa and My husband and I did our first IUI on Jan 21st and 22nd. I find out tomorrow if I am pregnant. My question is if I am pregnant how long will I continue to be under the care of my fertility doc? Also is there anything I should or should not be doing?

    My RE saw me until about 8 weeks and then transferred me to my obgyn.  I agree with PP's advice about what not to do.  Good luck!

    Usually until after your first ultrasound, mine wants to see a heartbeat before releasing me. GL!!
    Me: 37 DH: 40 TTC since 9/09
    #1 BFP 1/10/11; missed m/c discovered 7w5d
    IF Dx: Endo, hetero MTHFR mutation, poor morphology
    #1 IUI: 1/18/12 = BFN
    #1 IVF/ICSI 4/2/12 = 2 x 7-cell and 1 x 5-cell transferred (3dt) = BFP!!
    H was born at 41w2d on 12/29/12 - be still my heart!
    #2 IVF/ICSI 1/19/14 = 2 x 8 cells transferred (3dt) = BFP!! EDD 10/09/14
    M&W born at 37 weeks on 9/18/14 - I am the momma of 3 boys!!!

    I just got graduated from my RE and I was 7 weeks. I think it all depends on the RE.
    Me 29 DH 30 Unexplained IF TTC since wedding May 2012. IUI #1 11/5/13-BFN.  IUI #2 12/5/13-BFN. IUI #3-12/30/14. All three with Femara CD 3-7 and Ovidrel trigger. +HPT 1/13/14 First +ever!!! Beta #1 195 Beta #2 1/15-533. Ultrasound on 2/4 showed one bean. EDD 9/22/14. Team Green turned Team Blue-Baby Conner arrived on 9/19/14.

    I was released from my RE at 8 weeks pregnant. They first ran betas and then I came in at 6 weeks to see the placement of the pregnancy (fertility treatments run a slightly higher risk of ectopic) and the number of sacs (so singleton, twins, or more). After all was well at 6 weeks, I came back at 8 weeks for another u/s. This one was about viability. We saw the heart beat at the 6w u/s, but the risk of miscarriage drops significantly after confirmed heart beat at 8 weeks. The last significant drop in loss risk comes at the end of the first trimester.

    My RE releases after the 8 weeks viability scan, but with the understanding that I would begin seeing my OB at 10 weeks. Some REs keep their patients through 10-12 weeks or the end of the first trimester. If you are pregnant, then you should expect to be with the RE for a minimum of betas and an u/s or two. GL!

    November/December Retesting/Natural Cycle = Surprise BFP @ 11dpo! Beta#1 76.6@13dpo Beta #2 276@15dpo u/s#1 6w2d hb113 u/s#2 8w2d, measuring 8w4d hb168! 10w2d hb171 12w3d Verifi results are in and good! EDD 8/23 Our Baby Girl Rainbow Baby born 8/20/2014!!!

    They're all different so you may want to ask your nurse, but we were released at 9 weeks. GL!

     DH: Severe MFI

     12/2/11 - IUI #1- BFN 
    8/1/12 - IVF #1 - Zero response from max stims (600iu intramuscularly)
    My ovaries are just for decoration

     12/6/12 - Adopted five embryos that had been frozen for over ten years!
     2/11/13 - DEmbryo FET #1 Thawed four, sadly two didn't survive. Transferred two beautiful blasts. 
     2/16/13 - First BFP of my life @ 6dp5dt! EDD 10/30/13
     3/27/13 - After beta and u/s hell, no heartbeat ever detected. D&C at 9w1d.

    6/5/13 - Adopted four new embryos that had been frozen for seven years!      
    9/12/13 - DEmbryo FET #2. Thawed and transferred two beautiful blasts
    9/17/13 - BFP @ 5dp6dt! EDD 05/31/14
     9/29/13 - m/c @ 5w1d. :(

    11/19/13 - DEmbryo FET #3. Thawed and transferred one blast from each batch. Wow!
     11/23/13 - BFP @ 4dp6dt! EDD 8/7/13
    Beta #1 @ 13dp6dt - 522  Beta #2 @ 16dp6dt - 1373 
    6w5d ultrasound showed one perfect baby with a beautiful heartbeat of 134bpm!

    Snowflake baby is a girl!

    We were released at 8w5d, after the 2nd u/s. My RE waits until they can confirm that the m/c risk has dropped below a certain point before they discharge.
    TRY to relax (i know this is wayyy easier said than done) and prepare yourself for either scenario. And treat your body like it is pregnant...like @VioletteGrayskies said...eat healthy, drink lots of water, stay away from alcohol and caffeine.
    And most of all, GL to you!
