Hello,
My hubby and I are TTC and I'm not sure when I'm ovulating (I have an idea based on my recent cycles, but not positive). I bought the Clear Blue 2 month OPK and just started it on Monday. Since my cycle length varies (average from past 3-4 months is 36 days.. after being messed up because I was coming off BC), I started earlier than the test recommends, just to be safe. the last day of my period was Saturday (the 1st), so I figured why not start testing - what could it hurt?
Monday and Tuesday came up no smiley face - the blank circle- which I was expecting. Honestly, I was expecting the blank circle for at least the entire week. then this morning I tested and it came up the steady smiley face, which would mean I was ovulating today or tomorrow. I'm not sure that's correct, especially because I just stopped my period, and my periods are usually at the end of each month, making my cycles longer). Also, yesterday or the day before I didn't get a flashing smiley to tell me that I'm fertile - and that test is supposed to show you your four fertile days leading to ovulation! So, I'm a bit confused and was wondering if this happened to anyone else? I'm bummed if that stupid smiley face is right, because we missed yesterday and monday ttc. Sunday we DTD, so I'm hoping that the little guys were hanging out today still!
I think I'm still going to test after these next two days when the smiley face goes away - I think you can reset the test and act like it's a new cycle and just continue testing just in case!
Thoughts? Any advice is appreciated!
Re: Clear Blue Ovulation Predictor Kit Question
This is my first month using OPKs but I also used CBEs. I didn't get a flashing smiley at all from testing twice a day starting from CD 10, and then got the solid smiley in the afternoon on CD 13 (Monday). I haven't gotten my CH from FF yet, but I think that based on my temps so far, I definitely O'd yesterday or Monday.
I couldn't tell you why the flashing smiley never showed, other than what PP said regarding a surge but not actually Oing, but just thought I would share that you are not alone in getting a solid smiley right off the bat.

Ok so this is what I pulled from online It is not possible to continue testing once Peak Fertility is displayed. Peak Fertility symbol will show on the day it is first detected and the day after. Therefore it will remain on the display for 48 hours after it is first detected and indicates that you are at your most fertile. You cannot perform another test while there is a result on the display. After Peak Fertility is displayed you must stop testing for this cycle. You can save any remaining test sticks for use in a future cycle if required but you must use the same Holder for a cycle of testing (do not change Holders part way through a cycle of use). Then, another question says what does it mean if it goes from low to peak.. They respond with : This product tracks the changes in estrogen and luteinising hormone (LH) throughout the menstrual cycle. If the necessary changes in estrogen are detected the Holder will display High Fertility and if the necessary changes in LH are detected the Holder will display Peak Fertility. If the hormone changes naturally occur close together it is possible that High Fertility may not be displayed and that the Holder will change from Low Fertility to Peak Fertility without displaying High Fertility. We would like to reassure you that this does not mean that your product is faulty and that you have still detected your two most fertile days to try to conceive. However if tests are missed or not performed correctly (i.e. mis-sampled, mis-timed or a weak concentration of urine is used) then your High Fertility results can also be affected. So, tomorrow I'm going to try to insert a new stick and see what happens. Then I'm going to call the help line. I'm pretty sure I didn't o - it' seems too soon after I had my period to have o'ed already, (I just finished my period on Saturday!) and I haven't had barely any cm... Especially not egg white cm! I just started temping this morning so it's not like I can really use that as a sign if I o'ed or not. I have to say, I'll be pretty ticked off if I spent all this money on a test that isn't going to be accurate or let me test more this cycle because it just stored I had an LH Surge that didn't mean anything
On a side note my digtal stick stopped working after my third time using it and I was so bummed! Make sure you follow the directions the best you can. They sent me a replacement and extra testing strips which made me feel better but i lost out on that month for using the tester.
