City micro

I posted a couple weeks ago about my kid hating his uppa baby gluxe.

I've kept trying and every time he goes in it he seems to cry and hate it. He's 11 months.

He's fine in both our cameleon and our vista so it's not the being strapped down thing. I think it has to do with having no real "sides" on the stroller.

I just found the city micro. It's only 120, would that be a good fit for a more compact stroller for us? I'm not super worried about size as I have a pretty good sized SUV.

Re: City micro

  • I have a City Micro and love it.  Actually, I've had 2.  The original version didn't fully recline and had a much smaller sun shade.  It was still a great lightweight/easy to steer stroller.  Then I found the new City Micro on clearance at Target last year and scooped it up for $79!  I really didn't even see it out of the box and assumed it was just like my first one.  I was pleasantly surprised to find that the new version was actually more like the City Mini- full recline and full sun shade and even had the easy access basket on the bottom!  It's an awesome stroller and we have used it for everything from neighborhood walks, to mall trips, to Disney World, and airplane travel.  I honestly wouldn't own anything else.  I have this and a City Mini Double and we are set!

  • I have the Micro and I love it.  It is just like the City Mini except for the wheels.  AND, if you wanted to, you can buy the city mini wheels for this stroller.  I did that with my extra set of city mini double wheels.
    It is a great stroller.

  • I wonder if he hates the G-Luxe because the seat isn't very upright.  The Micro seat is also not very upright so it may not be any better.  Do you think that could be a possible reason?

I did not even think of this!  I may do that... never really minded the smaller wheels but I would like the GT wheels- I'm assuming those would work too.  Hmmmm...

I guess I'm not sure what is considered "upright"?  I've always thought the City Mini/Micro was very upright as long as it had the back support in place.  Now if that's not in, oh yeah... it's way too flimsy.  What year model do you have?  Did it come with the back support?  If not, I just cut some firm cardboard to the right size and slid it down into the seat back on my original city micro.  Perfect.  Of course, the newer models all come with it anyway... I think it's only the ones prior to 2010-2011 that didn't automatically have it.

  • The seat is flimsy, but nothing a cardboard backing doesn't fix.

@slwprincess- Unfortunately the GT wheels have a different mechanism so they won't work.  Stupid!

I have the City Mini GT and the Vista.  The Vista sits VERY upright, like almost 90 degrees.  The GT is quite a bit more reclined but I haven't had the Micro.
