GTKY: (Stolen from yesterday's ticker change) What is one item you really hope to receive from your baby registry? Or, if you don't have a registry, what item are you purchasing that you're most excited about?

Week/fruit? 27, rutabaga

Symptoms? No pregnancy symptoms, but I got this damn cold that DH and DS has a couple weeks ago...so now I'm coughing a lot and that hurts my throat and then I hack up half a lung.

Upcoming appointments?  Just had one today...had my glucose testing - here's to hoping I pass like I did with the last pregnancy!  Now I'm going to every two week appointments...only 13 more weeks!!

Rants/raves? My only rant is that we got a denial letter from insurance denying our claim for the genetic testing we did back in October.  Then, come to find out, one of my coworkers is pregnant and going to the same doctor I am.  We have the same insurance plan and she had the exact same labs drawn two months after I did - insurance paid all but like $400 for her whereas they are denying the full $3,000+ charge for me.  

I talked with my OB about it today and he told me to appeal the claim, not to pay it.  He said those tests are ACOG recommended (I need to look this up online) and that it's poor practice to not offer it to your patients.  He also said it's only every once in awhile that insurances will deny it for one reason or another and it's usually just a matter of their office calling and straightening things out with insurance.

Or, if you don't have a registry, what item are you purchasing that you're most excited about?  I have a registry, but as a STM, I'm not having a shower.  I recently bought an ergo off my registry - very excited about that!  I really don't have much on my registry since we bought gender neutral everything during the last pregnancy....I only did a babies r us one to get the registry deal.  I did put new carseats on there for DS so at some point we will buy those.

 Upcoming appointments? Don't have one for another 2 weeks. 

 Rants/raves? Rave: DH surprised me and bought a new case for my phone after my sassy puppy chewed mine.

Week/fruit? 24 weeks, canteloupe

Symptoms? Persistent round ligament pain has been hanging around for almost 2 weeks. It's seriously slowing me down and keeping me from working out as often as I had been. That, along with back pain.

Upcoming appointments? 28 week appointment and glucose test on 3/3.

Rants/raves?
Rants: No matter which exercise I've tried the past 2 weeks, I feel uncomfortable and achy. I've slowed down a lot, just to be safe of course, but it's pretty frustrating when I actually have enough energy and the desire to exercise, but my body won't cooperate.
Rave: For as worried as I was that my OB was going to scold me for my weight gain, she didn't mention a word. DH told me to give the whole worrying over weight loss a rest though. Guess I'll start listening to him b/c I've gained 23 pounds at 24 weeks, and it seems right on track with a lot of other Moms around here, so I'm done worrying about this and will just do my best!

I registered to get the completion coupon, but am not planning to share it since this is baby #2. No second baby shower for me! I've been most excited about our Bob Dualie. We were lucky enough to got it during the 40% from Amazon and saved a ton of money. Phew! We're not really buying much of anything else, but I am looking forward to buying a cute little coming home outfit for DS.

Rants/raves?
We had a Super Bowl party this weekend and DH moved the couch from the front room to the TV room for extra seating and still hasn't moved it back. Not a big deal but I have piano lessons this afternoon and parents always sit on that couch during lessons. I think I'm just going to move some kitchen table chairs in there cause moving a couch on my own just sounds unnecessary.

I really hope I get my car seat and stroller! I'd obviously buy them if I don't get them at my shower but I'd probably end up buying cheaper ones.

I hope to get the Britax car seat and stroller too, the most expensive thing on the registry...LOL

Symptoms? Constant need to pee, some fatigue, back pain

Upcoming appointments? Next tues is my glucose test

Rants/raves? Last week I was pretty much miserable the entire week. I had a TERRIBLE sinus congestion/infection. So much so my teeth and ears were killing me. I'm anti OTC meds while pregnant, but with my 3 year old who needed me all day I broke down and phoned the ob to see what I could take. It was two full days of paint and about 4 days recovery. Needless to say I didn't work out at all last week. Yesterday was my diet day back and it was amazing! Today was my run, was not as easy as it normally is but that was to be expected.

My cloth diapers! I have some on a registry to help keep me organized as well as family would like to help so I made a few so they know what I need . I'm super excited to go cloth with this lo, we try to live pretty green so I'm excited to not impact the environment.

Symptoms? Getting bone deep exhaustion phases now, and nausea came back for some reason and food aversion, some heart burn and I can barely eat anything

Upcoming appointments? Next Monday- I see my MFM and this peanut, and then after we meet with a doula

Rants/raves? I am feeling her a little more consistently though still not from the outside- I swear my AP must be ginormous. Also stressing about money...constantly.

Or, if you don't have a registry, what item are you purchasing that you're most excited about? I really hope some people help out with the CD covers and don't buy us regular disposable diapers as I explicitly stated on my registry not to. That's really what peanut needs- more than a stroller or binkie- diapers to cover her bum that we can reuse!

Symptoms? Finally feeling more! A bit of boob leakage, some round ligament pain, and falling asleep often. 

Upcoming appointments? Next Tuesday! 

Rants/raves? Rave- Got 2 different compliments from 2 different people who said that I look better than ever since I got pregnant. Made my whole day/month/year!

Travel system- I registered for one that I love and I hope we get it. If not, it's not too expensive and I wouldn't feel bad having to buy it.

Baby registry most wished for item: Bouncer/swing...we just don't have the money and would love to have this gifted to us!  Everything else we can pretty much swing (HA!) from the consignment/gift stores.  Anyone used the Mommaroo?
