Drew and Ty, my mono/di twins, arrived last Thursday as planned via c section. Drew weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and Ty 5 lbs 8 oz. Six days before they were projected to be 6 lbs 9 oz and 5 lbs 15 oz each, so the ultrasound wasn't too far off.
The c section itself was, okay. Not as exciting and personal as a natural birth. I stressed the most about the spinal (had a bad experience with my first child) and this one did not go well. It took several tries to get it in. Yuck. Then I went through about 10 mins feeling extremely dizzy and nauseous. It was terrible, but I had been warned in advance this would happen and the anesthesiologist would give me Meds to control it, which she did and they inevitably worked. From there on out, I felt awesome and hubby came into the room. Drew was born first ( he was my baby A). He looked good and I got a peak at him right away. Ty was born second and I did not get to see him as he was not breathing. Both boys were sent to a separate room for exams. No baby cries or anything...it was weird. They tied my tubes, husband left to be with babies, and then they sewed me back up. No staples, but they did struggle to get my uterus back in. So weird.
Ty was delivered to me in my recovery room after my post op recover time, so about 2
Hours later. Once he started breathing he was fine. Drew, however, struggled with low blood sugar and didn't get to come into my room with me for about 6 hrs.
We had a few blood sugar ups and downs, but ended up with no NICU time. Babies both went home with me and my DH 3 days later.

I'm so happy!
We've been home for 2 days and the boys are bottle feeding while I pump. They latch no problem to the breast but get tired quickly, so I'm building my supply and will try to get them latched and eating from the breast again soon.
Recovery has been rough for me. I'm extremely swollen, am experiencing extreme constipation and, regular c section pain. But, today, day 6, I feel like I am making a turn for the better on all accounts. There have been lots of tears the last couple days.
Also, just thought I would mention, in another discussion we talked about rockers vs a lazy boy sized chair. If you can get a rocking large chair like a lazy boy or a one of those super cute large nursery rocking chairs, I highly recommend it. Half of my recovery issues have been from the pain of not being able to get comfortable. My mom surprised me with a big rocking cushioned chair when I got home from the hospital. It's been amazing!!!!!!!! Supportive yet comfy, and I can feed the twins on it at the same time with my Brest friend pillow! Who knew a lazy boy chair could evoke tears of joy!
Any who...I could write a novel on the experience, but I will leave it at this. Hope everyone is doing well. T and Ps for everyone who's expecting and who recently delivered!
