Just checking in with the twin mamas, it seems like we have a lot on our board!
So twin moms...
1. Do you know if you're having fraternal or identical twins?
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor?
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos?
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to?
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part?
Re: June Twin Mamas (GTKY)
People always ask us if we are related so one time for shits and giggles we told the cashier we didn't know each other. She was very confused
2. We were pink
3. Your never fully prepared. From the day we were born my mom said it's always been a learning experience!
4. Atleast once your twins will make a mess and they will take off in different directions. One will be an instigator and the other will be the go getter. With my twin I came up with all the plans and she executed them. At one point I even had her doing my homework. I was in 2nd grade and she wouldn't do my homework so I told on her. Needless to say I ended up doing my own homework anyways. going through puberty we never fought with our mom because we fought with each other instead.
The best part is they will grow up to be best friends! My twin and I are inseparable! If it wasn't for our husbands saying no we would be living in a huge house together raising our families together. Our bond is stronger then any bond.
5. Twins are a lot of work! But they are totally worth it! They will fight like crazy and hate each other but cry and miss each other when they are apart. Even now when I hang out with my twin and I have to leave to go home (35 miles away) I cry and feel sad.
Fun thread idea--thanks!
1. Do you know if you're having fraternal or identical twins? Fraternal
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Do velociraptors come in pink? Will have to get a better look at today's a/s...
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? Finally started registering for some things online. In some ways I feel horribly unprepared since I've purchased practically nothing, but my parents have a big part of the nursery covered, so I'm trying to wait until after the showers to buy too many things.
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to? I'm really looking forward to seeing the girls interact with each other. I get a kick out of watching my friends' twin girls play--they have built-in best friends! I'm least looking forward to grocery shopping while infants (how do you manage two carriers and a cart?) and the inevitable interest that twins generate in complete strangers. I never know how to politely escape from those conversations!
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? Probably a little bit of everything. When planning for our FET, I had really only intended to do one at a time; DH convinced me that our chances were better transferring two--little did I expect both of them to stick! My main concerns for twins vs. singletons really focus on making sure they have separate identities as they grow up rather than just being "the twins." Of course, I worry about how I'm going to handle the work of two babies at once, but I keep telling myself that it will be helpful to curb some of the more obsessive tendencies that I might otherwise fall into with just one baby. With two, I doubt there will be enough time for that brand of crazy...although I'm sure other types of crazy will abound! Still, since we got a relatively late start from dealing with IF for years, I'm happy that we're finally jump-starting our family--might as well dive right in!
Both DH and I are fraternal twins, I have a brother and he has a sister. We're not having twins but everyone keeps asking me if I'm sure I'm only having one, including my mother. Everytime I we speak she asks me "are you sure it's still just one?"

1. Do you know if you're having fraternal or identical twins? Identical
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Team Pink
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? Working on the nursery. Usually I do it all (painting, moving furniture, putting things together) but this time I am going to need lots of help.
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to? I am going to love having TWO girls to dress and it will be fun when we go out. We already get lots of attention because I have 3 cute boys. I can only imagine what it will be like with twin girls added to the mix.
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? Mostly I am just worried about them surviving (to be perfectly honest). I look forward to them being born healthy and holding them in my arms. I can't really think further than that in my mind.
9 angels in heaven-3 in my arms and 1 in the NICU
Mono/di twin girls: Josephine born to heaven and Evangeline born Earthside at 25w
Great idea!
1. Do you know if you're having fraternal or identical twins? Fraternal
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Purple!
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? Started registries, so that means lots of research one which items will work best for us!
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to? Most looking forward to having two squishy little babies to love, and I can't wait to see DH melt into a big ball of mush the first time he holds them! I am least looking forward to the lack of sleep - I'm already hardly sleeping, which makes it difficult to function. I can't imagine having to take care of two babies on even less sleep!
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? Most days, I'm still a bit overwhelmed. Some days, though, I am much more confident in our ability to survive!

2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Team Kitteh....aka Green
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? Not much. We did our registries because my first shower is in a few weeks (OB won't let me travel out of town after that) and I've used an online tool to try and figure out how we'll place the furniture but thats about it. The nursery is already painted (Benjamin Moore Lemonade) and we've picked out furniture but not ordered it yet. I'm paranoid to do that before 24 weeks.
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to? I'm most looking forward to having children in general. I'm least looking forward to being almost always outnumbered.
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? Definitely still a bit nervous. People keep telling me it will be no big deal, or the same as having two kids, or this past weekend someone told me it'd be even easier than just one baby. I roll my eyes when I hear this because I'm not under any misconception that this will be easy. I just know that somehow we will find a way to make it work. Sleep is totally overrated, right?
О Привязать! Z!
I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
1. Do you know if you're having fraternal or identical twins? Fraternal
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Team Pink Velociraptors
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? I've been trying to get a bunch done during the weekends, but honestly, it's tiring. So things are getting done little by little. Right now I'm focusing on the registry since people are asking and my showers are coming up. I picked a paint color and know what I want to do with the nursery, just gotta do it. We have the cribs already set up in their rooms. The daddy got a little excited with that and did it early :P
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to? Like a lot of our girls here, we went through infertility to have our babies so I am so, so excited to finally be a mama. I can't wait to see them grow up together and play and I can't wait to take them traveling. All the things I'm not really looking forward to (them fighting, stranger dangers bugging us, a million dirty diapers) it's all doable. But I am NOT looking forward to going back to work when they're 3 months old. This gives me anxiety.
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? Depends on the day. Most days I'm really excited and happy. Other days I get a little nervous and worried. So happy to be having babies, but praying they can stay in as long as possible so I can have nice chubby, healthy babies!
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Blue
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? We have their room almost ready and we have started washing the newborn clothing to see what we have and what we still need.
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to? I am just looking forward to having them here, we struggled with infertility and this all seems like a dream still. I am looking forward to them having a built in best friend.
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? The idea of nursing twins still freaks me out a little bit, I want to give it 100% and the idea of having a c-section freaks me out!
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Team GREEN all the way!!!
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? Trying to prep my 3yo for the big change!! Twins are getting a little neglected right now.
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? A big family!!!!
What are you least looking forward to? Lack of sleep
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? So exciting and nerve wracking!
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Team Pink!
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? I am just buying little things here and there. A lot of our gear from our big two didn't survive, so I have been scouring yard sale websites and hitting up my friends' who are selling their baby stuff.
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to? I am most looking forward to snuggling to babies (I just love newborns!) and seeing my older two interact with them. It was so special watching my DS and DD bond! I am least looking forward to how hard I hear it is in the beginning with sleep deprivation and taking care of ANYTHING else (home, other kids, etc).
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? I am still pretty freaked out and excited. The whole pregnancy was a surprise, and twins totally rocked my world. I am struggling already with how physically limited I feel so early in the game, and I need a lot of help already; getting overwhelmed with thinking of how much help I will most likely need when the come. And the whole birth thing is a whole new level of scary this time; the possibility of a double whammy makes me want to scream. But with all that said, I feel very blessed to be having two new babies and cannot wait to meet them and love them. Though I feel overwhelmed and ill-equipped, I know I have an awesome God, an amazing husband, and incredibly supportive family and friends!
1. Do you know if you're having fraternal or identical twins? Identical
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor? Pink
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos? Nursery is painted, new carpet, working on "upcycling"/painting the furniture, working on the registry and buying a lot of clearance clothes at Target! : )
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? Watching them grow and interact with one another, and having two little babies to hold and spoil.
What are you least looking forward to? Twice the work, twice the diapers (yuck!!) and so much laundry. And no sleep.
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part? Mostly excited, "I got this", but I still have my "What the hell are we getting ourselves into?!" moments.
They think they're fraternal but since they are the same gender we won't know for sure till birth.
2. What Team are you reppin? Blue, Pink, Green, Purple, Velociraptor?
Pink
3. What have you been doing lately to get ready for the bambinos?
Going through DDs baby stuff, set up the crib, buying all the duplicate items we need.
4. Besides the babies making a grand appearance, what are you most looking forward to with life with twins? What are you least looking forward to?
Having a full house, for both. Life is going to be crazy with three but I know it will also be amazing :-)
5. Do you find the idea of twins still freaks you out, excites you, worries you or have you moved on to the "I'm totally good, I got this" part?
I'm ok, freaked out at first since it was a complete surprise, but I'm good now.
