Bruise around belly button

So I woke up this morning with a good 1-2 inch faint bruise all the way around my belly button. Anyone else ever have that happen? It doesn't hurt to touch or anything it was just a little unnerving to see black and blue. All I can think is that it was a particularly rough night with the baby doing what felt like somersaults back and forth across my stomach and he smacked stuff around pretty good in there.

I had this when I first "popped" but it went away.

I got this with DD and have it again now. I forget what the midwife said it was last time - something about how my muscles were stretching maybe? - but she had said that it wasn't cause for concern unless it got worse and/or I was in pain. If either of those two things happened I could be bleeding. I would still ask your OB/MW about it just in case but I would think it's probably no big deal.

ETA : mine stayed like that until the end too.

I don't think mine is bruised, but it looks like it. I think its the veins in my belly showing through.  I have pretty pale skin and I have been noticing this for the last week or so.  I am currently 32 weeks.

Mine's not bruised, but it's red around it and was really itchy last week. It's better now.

Mine is reddish purple right above the belly button. Happened with DD too. Went away after birth.

Thanks ladies. I figured it wasn't much of anything and I do feel like the baby had a growth spurt because I feel huge all of a sudden. My belly button hasn't gone turkey timer yet but I'm guessing it's only a matter of time now.
