Finally news: opinions?

Hey ladies.

Your always such an inspiration, tell me someone out there knows about...

Just got call from dr. My thyroid is 4.58 (didn't know I had thyroid problems) and my progesterone level was 5.99. Apparently I'm not ovulating, did call in Clomid. Scared of all this news, not sure what it means. we have been trying for year. I have a rare disease that is in remission and had six years taken from me. Was hoping this would be a happy phone call so I could have a baby. Anyone know about this?

Are you seeing an RE?  Where are you in your cycle? Progesterone fluctuates a lot.  And, I'm obviously not an expert, but that thyroid level seems a little on the high side.  I would consider  seeing your primary care Dr. for a redraw, and possibly taking action to lower your thyroid levels.  IF you are only seeing an OB, I would consider seeing an RE.

The good thing about thyroid problems is that they are relatively easy to treat (though getting the correct dosage can be a little time-consuming) and you should really notice a difference in how you feel after you start taking the meds. I've read that undiagnosed/untreated thyroid problems are a major contributor to fertility problems, so this is an easy fix and could really make a great difference to your success. Best of luck!

Good luck! The thyroid issues can definitely affect your fertility. If you haven't gone through fertility testing for you and your partner with a RE then I would recommend getting a referral to do so.

See an RE!  Make sure you have done all your testing before Clomid!
