Where did this belly come from??? Update

edited February 2014 in Pregnant after IF
I just looked down today and BAM!!!  I have a little bump.  So here's the question.  In my little town there's no place that carries maternity clothes.  I tried our local JC Penney and they only have online available.  Our Target doesn't have much at all  I'm bummed and I can barely move in my normal pants.

Any suggestions for online maternity clothes shopping?  I'm not good at this clothes shopping stuff, I'm a tom boy at heart.  I'm mostly jeans and t-shirts :)

Thanks Ladies!!!!
Thanks Everyone!!!!! I went to Old Navy today. It's thirty miles away!!! The girl said they just started stocking maternity clothes last week. I bought a low panel pair of jean and a full panel pair. So comfy!!! The full panel pair slides right now but at least I know what I need!!! @liz4paws the sale rocked, of course I bought other stuff too.

  • Sign up for old navy emails. They send you coupons about every other day. That is where I got all my tops from. Jeans I like target and recently got a pair from sears, their maternity line is called 2 hearts. I never ordered jeans from old navy so don't have an opinion on them. Their prices are good and normally reviews are spot on. They also have free returns.

  • My jeans are from old Navy. I like them but am starting to need the full panel vs the demi cause it cuts in. My only complaint is their inconsistency in sizing. I'd order a few sizes/ lengths.

  • Yay for a bump!
Everything I've ordered online has been from Gap and Old Navy.  They have free shipping over $50 and free returns.  I have jeans from both stores and prefer the Gap ones.  I bought some t-shirts and sweaters from both a few months ago and am starting to get some nursing tops.  Definitely sign up for email alerts - you get the coupons but also will know when they have sales.  They have had a bunch of 35% - 50% off sales lately!

  • Yay for a little bump! I love Asos clothes! They have really cute maternity baseball type tee's. Gap is good for basics. I really dont like full panel pants. The ones that are most comfortable for me look like actual pants but have a little give in the waist. (J crew has some only online.) If it's comfortable, get a bunch of leggings and a few pairs of pants and you could probably get use out of your regular tops for a while. I'm almost 28 weeks and I'm still shoving myself into non maternity tops ;) (like a sausage casing lol).

  • Ditto to the other posts. If you are just looking for casual/comfortable stuff, Old Navy has a great selection. They are always having good deals, so everything is super cheap. And with free shipping & free returns, it helps to buy a lot of stuff and a few different sizes to see what works. I ordered some stuff from Gap and Target too, but I did the best at ON. Congrats on your growing bump! :)

  • Congrats on the bump! I agree with PPs to try out Old Navy. All of my jeans and about half of my tops came from there. You can hit up good sales and promotions and pari it with the free shipping and returns. My other mat clothes have come mostly from Target and Pink Blush. You will be glad when you switch to maternity pants - so much more comfy. Happy shopping!

  • Do you happen to have a Kohl's? They have a website too. I love their yoga type pants! I'm a big jeans wearer normally, but can't find any brands that are comfortable. So most days I'm just in knit yoga pants. Target has them too. Plus they are great post-baby too, and they are less risky to order online than jeans, since they are super stretchy. I also discovered there is a maternity section at Savers (like Goodwill but nicer), and I've found some awesome stuff there. But it's probably just in the bigger cities, I imagine. Congrats on your growing bump!

  • Gap has the coziest tees. I love the long sleeve ones and I've been living in them. They're fantastically long.

Destination Maternity has really good red-line prices (sales) and I like the way their pants/skinnies/jeans fit me best. Also, reasonably priced if you poke around. They send you coupons all the time and include them in their catalog. In store they give out welcome packages that include free samples and coupons and are affiliated with Buy buy baby. It can save you a lot of $$ to be on their mailing list, but the sheer amount they communicate can be overwhelming, so be prepared for that. I thought it was all worth it though.

Forgot where you're located but since you're having a summer baby, I'd be cautious about ordering too many cold weather clothes unless you live in the great white north and then go for it.

  • Most of my stuff has come from Kohls, I've been very happy with everything there. I have a pair of jeans from gap that I LOVE and another from Macys- I think it's a house brand but called Indigo Blue- that I've been happy with. Have a few things from Old Navy but the selection at the store by me isn't great.

  • Congrats on your bump!!!  I'm also expecting twins, and went from barely needing maternity clothes at 14 weeks, to having nearly outgrown them at 26.  Keep this in mind!  I've also only gained about 15-20 lbs, maybe, and I can see it's mostly in my belly, although my bra is getting tight as well.  I will say that the pants I liked early on are very uncomfortable now.  Early on, I got some great Motherhood Maternity jeans at a maternity consignment shop that fit under my belly and looked so cute.  Now, they hit right where my little girl is laying and are very uncomfortable - plus I need suspenders or something to keep the darn things up!!!  It's like trying to keep pants on a basketball.  I find I mostly wear jersey material dresses around the house - even in winter, because everything else is so darn uncomfortable.  When I leave the house, I wear the big, tall, old-fashioned over-the-belly stretchy panel maternity pants from the Goodwill.  They're the only thing that will stay on.  I'm going to need some more clothes to make it through the next bit, and I'm pretty much only going to buy comfy t-shirt material dresses.  Just a bit of advice I wish someone had given me.  At 26 weeks, I look like and feel like I'm ready to deliver.  These next 12 weeks will fly by, and you don't wanna spend too much on clothes that won't fit you in less than 3 months.  :)

  • I hear you, @firesiren. I live in a rural area with not much commerce, also. Not many of our stores carry maternity clothes. I echo several others that ordering from Old Navy and the Gap is the way to go! I love love love the work pants and cardigan I ordered from the Gap. Old Navy has a cute selection of comfy tops. I ordered some bootcut jeans from Old Navy but it seems that the panel starts way too low: I'm constantly pulling my pants up :( I also found some tops at Kohls and Target but don't love them.. Good luck!!!!

@ThoseThreeWords - I thought it was early too, but if you do a google images search for 13w pregnancy, you'll se plenty of obvious bumps. So I guess we aren't imagining it! It's actually giving me confidence because I was always kind of self conscious about my mid section. But now that there a bit of a bump, I'm wearing tighter shirts and dresses that really show it off. We fought so hard for this, I'm definitely enjoying these perks!  I hope you're enjoying it too! It's great! :)

  • ThoseThreeWords and Liz: I popped around 13.5/14 weeks as well. As of 15 weeks I was in maternity clothes pretty much full time. I have decided not to fight the bump. :-)
  • I love the jeans that I got from Kojls and some comfy shirts came from there too (on clearance). I got most of my work clothes at the loft online when they were have 40 or 50% off sales. I also got a few things at motherhood maternity but I like the quality of the Loft stuff a bit better.

  • I've been kind of obsessed with Pink Blush.  I'm at the point now where I can't make my regular clothes work anymore, even with the belly band things, they're just uncomfortable, so I just made a big purchase.  They don't have much in the way of bottoms, but everything else is really cute.  I'll probably get a couple more pairs of work pants from Gap and maybe ON since they're actually long enough, right now I only have one, and then come the warmer weather I'll try to just make dresses work as much as possible.
