Pregnant after IF

From IFV: girls using Heprin???

Hey ladies I know some of you are on Heprin or levonox regime. Question is how bruised do you get.?? I'm icing before and after and injecting very very slowly. Already beginning to get dark bruises and wondering if there's anything I can do to prevent that, maybe this is just the way it's gonna be??

Re: From IFV: girls using Heprin???

  • I was on lovenox until 13w. The pre filled syringe it comes in sucks because the needle is wobbly. I would transfer it to another syringe so the needle was more stable. Also when I gave it I noticed I would put it in at an angle since I was looking down but when dh did it he got a more straight shot which seemed to not bruise as bad. But sometimes it would get pretty ugly with the bruises. Also the farther out from my belly button the more it tended to bruise. So my advice is transfer to a normal syringe, inject straight and stay within 1-2in of left and right side of belly button.

  • I'm still on lovenox but switching to heparin soon. I don't see any rhyme or reason to when I bruise vs not bruise. I don't ice at all though.

  • I bruise a lot but I'm on it twice a day so I figure that's why. I also have lots of fun random bruises on my legs that I can't tell you where they came from. I've never iced any of my injection spots though.

  • Lots of bruises! I find that it really depends on the brand of off brand lovanox. The ones I got through mail order sucked, very wobbly but the ones I get from a local pharmacy are much better.
  • Was on lovenox, then when I got put in the hospital they changed me to heparin in case I have to deliver.  I didn't really bruise on lovenox, but now have several from the heparin.  Good luck with your FET!

  • Hi Lacy! I do lovenox since its only 1x a day (switching to heparin at 30-some weeks). So my bruising wasn't bad but I must've hit something last week because I got a big raspberry bruise and now a lump under it. Icing and going slow made no difference, so I just wipe with alcohol, give myself the shot pretty quickly and toss it in the sharps bin. I do check for bleeding before I put my shirt back down which seems to happen here and there.

Would your doc do Lovenox? Then its only one poke a day, which would mean half the bruising.
