Parenting after a Loss

TTC & YI (chloebeth930)

Hey ladies, so kinda random issue I am having.  We are currently TTC #2 but I came down with bronchitis this month and had to be put on an antibiotic.  I made sure they gave me a pregnancy safe one, but of course I now have a yeast infection (sorry for the TMI) from the antibiotic (I have about 5 days worth of antibiotics left).

Here is my issue and where my PAL brain comes in.  I am currently in my fertile window (I got a positive OPK yesterday, I am on CD 17, and I usually O around CD 19).  Should I be concerned about ovulating while on antibiotics.  And what about the yeast infection cream I started taking?  What if I am still having to take it around the time that I implant (if that would even happen this month).  Would that increase my chance of m/c?

Part of me feels like I should just throw in the towel for this month, but I really don't want to wait another month and then that keeps putting us closer and closer to having a due date near the end of the year (which will pretty much be impossible with my new job situation).

I guess I am not sure what I am asking here.  Am I being crazy thinking that taking the category B antibiotic while TTC and the OTC yeast infection medicine will increase my chances of a m/c?  Would you just not TTC this month? Would you just keep moving forward with everything knowing that by the time I would have a + pregnancy test that the antibiotics would be done and the yeast infection gone?  Ughh.... stupid PAL brain.

Re: TTC & YI (chloebeth930)

  • I don't know what the other ladies will say but I personally would still TTC this month. Both the antibiotics and the YI cream are probably more needed than not needed so as long as your MD was okay with it, go for it.

  • I agree with the PPs. Category B is safe and I would definitely treat the YI. If you feel comfortable TTC, then go for it. I personally wouldn't because (TMI) maybe I am odd, but I passed a YI to DH before I knew I had it a few years back.
