  • a tingly, burning feeling in my breasts for me

  • For me it is tingly and stings a little.
  • for me a kind of tingling pressure.  you will know it when you feel it.  I did not feel it much in the beginning

  • Ok- while you are breast feeding? or when the milk is 'ready?"

sorry for the stupid questions but I have been breast feeding for about 5 weeks and things aren't going so hot. I just wondered if there was somehting wrong with my reflexes.

    thanks

  • Not sure if this description makes sense but...have you ever eaten something sour after not eating anything for a while?  Your salivary glands in your mouth kind of go into overdrive and it almost hurts when they produce the saliva.  That is what letdown feels like, only in your boobs.

MIL said it was a pretty good description, but I'm not sure if everyone has experienced that sour saliva thing like I have.

  • I never felt a thing Huh?
  • I don't feel it, I just know it's happening when DD starts gulping or I hear "plopping" in the pump bottles.

Mine happens a good several seconds into BFing.  DD stimulates things and then letdown happens.  You can tell (aside from the feeling) because you can hear her start to really swallow.

And it happens at some random times, too.  It doesn't happen as much with DD#2 as it did with DD#1 so my boobs must have gotten smarter.  Smile

  • When I am bf - I dont feel a let down. But, if I need to pump and I am out and about - I can feel it - like a pressure/tingly feeling kinda around the nips. Then I know I NEED to pump right now, or else make sure I have the nursing pads in because its going to gush.
  • a lot of people don't feel it.
  • I don't usually feel it when I'm nursing. ?But I feel it sometimes when I think about nursing.

I will get it when I hear DS cry, getting ready to feed, and during feedings.

    Me too.

  • My sister told me ahead of time that I would feel tiny lightening cramps in my boobs w/let down, and now I gotta laugh because its actually a good description. =)

  • I have only felt it a few times and tingly is the best description for what I feel.  I have never felt it while pumping (I EP) but have felt it when I was late for a pump and was really full.
  • I described it to DH as sitting on a sunburn foot that's fallen asleep. I know, I know - wacky combination but I think it sums it up pretty well. Wink
