MN Poll

We like to use family names for middle names. My MN is Michelle and DH's middle name is Michael (which also happens to be the first name of both grandpas). We already have a DD and her middle name is Michelle after me. We're expecting a DS. The logical middle name is Michael, but I almost don't want to use it because it just feels like a lot of practically the same MN for everybody in our family. Then again, maybe that's an argument for using it. Although, that feels really cutesy/too much to me. And, if it matters, this will probably be our last child. So....

  • If you love the name use it. If not, find another meaningful name.

  • We gave our baby a first and middle name that we both really loved. I wouldn't go with tradition simply because it is tradition.

  • I wouldn't do it. But I also don't think it's the end of the world if you do choose to use it.

  • It's a cute tradition. I'd say do it unless you come a cross some other name you fall helplessly in love with.

  • My parents have Rae/Ray for their middles and gave it to both me and my sister. I hated it so much I legally changed it. Way too cutesy for me.

  • Is there anyone else you would want to honor? A grandfather of yours or your husband's?
