This has been on our boy name list through every pregnancy and I debate it every time even though I personally love it.

My pros:

-It isn't overdone/popular

-It isn't spelled weird

-It fits where we live (South TX), DH grew up in the country

My Cons:

-Middle will be Ray no matter what …flow?

-Last name is 2 syllables (sounds like Sweetman)…length?

-Is it too unique? Guilty pleasure name?

I had a student my first year of teaching names Remington. He went by Rem. I'd never use it personally, but I don't think it's a terrible name.

I have a student named Remington, he goes by Remi. His brother is Colton, so yeah, their parents like guns.

NN would most likely be Remy when young. Then maybe Rem when older. 

Noah has gotten so incredibly popular now I am not sure about it anymore.

MN will be Ray after DH no matter what. MN Rae for a girl.

I know a Remington that goes by Remy. I think of guns because I am an avid hunter however I am not republican. :-P MJ!

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll save it for the next dog. I can't explain why I love the name but always have since I heard it over 10 years ago. 

@letsgobowlingx Cody Ray is my DH I need to get back on there and play around with Nymbler but I have explored it before.

I wouldn't name my baby after anything associated with guns. I prefer Wyatt and Harrison from your list.

@MrsCase1 I'm barely brave enough to consider it for a boy. I couldn't do it for a girl. I feel like the ones who like the name...LOVE it...and most others dislike it.

Okay, I'm showing my age, but all I see is Pierce Brosnan playing Remington Steele.  Totally scrumptious!

I love the name and so go for it.

I have had two student who were "Remington Ray". Its NMS but it fits rural West Virginia where they live. Colt, Buck, and Gunnar are popular here too. 

I think of Remington shavers or Pierce Brosnan as Remington Steele.

Blech. I just think of guns and cigarettes and Ted Nugent. People may not side eye it where you live in TX, but he'd have to spend the rest of his life there. I personally could never take someone with that name seriously and I was raised around guns.
