Stay at Home Moms

ATL stay at home moms... (Sorry question!)

Local boards are not really the greatest so I have a question..

Moved here in late 2011 and have still not met anyone with kids that is remotely friendly down here.  Kinda sad huh?  Maybe its me? Dunno doubt it but anyways where are there good places in the city to meet other moms or join mom groups/play groups etc?

I am losing my mind not being able to have friends in the burbs when I came from Boston knowing so many people...

thanks for the help :)

  • HII!!

We must have moved at the same time because that's when I relocated as well. Check meetup.com there are a lot of kids playgroups on there. Gymboree also offers different types of classes for children that they can go to. When it is hot out, there are always little ones playing in the sprinkler things in Centennial Park.

To be honest, unless you have a park near you, it can be hard to meet other mommies out here. That is why meetup.com is so great. Good Luck!!

  • In Atlanta proper there are tons of mommy groups, library story hours, etc. But I have heard from my my burb friends that there isn't a lot out there like that. Maybe you could start one? Do you have a YMCA? We go to tons of classes though there and love the childcare there too!

I consider sometimes to drive into ATL for those things just to get some lively action going on in our lives LOL how horrible is that.  *sigh*  Our closest YMCA is Decatur which I may just have to go to
