Southern vacay ideas

I need a vacation. We don't want to travel across the country, we are trying to vacay on a budget. Any ideas for toddler friendly vacation areas in the south??

Ok thank y'all!! We haven't really been on a real real vacation since our honey moon. We always travel for work but it's not the same. Just hearing the word beach makes me all sweaty and uncomfortable as I'm about to devour a greasy pizza lol I'll start getting in shape Monday

We love the OBX and usually go each year. Charleston and Key West are some of our other favorites, but we don't get to go nearly as often.

We usually go to the mountains. We stay in NC in Bryson city. It is close to the entrance to the GSM park and they have a train ride that goes through the mountains. It is also close, ~1 hr from  Gatlinburg, TN. It  is a bit cheaper to stay there to since it is not as touristy of a town as Gatlinburg.

depends what you like. I would say Beaufort, NC and you can hit all the little near by towns.
