bleeding :( ...TMI alert

I had a moderate amount of bleeding a couple weeks ago (I thought it was implantation bleeding) accompanied with mild cramping. It slowly tapered off to pink and then brown after a few days. Last night, I had bright red bleeding (enough to fill a panty liner, no cramps) and then it became darker red, then brown. This morning it's a small amount, but it's bright red again. I called my OB's office and they had me go to the lab to get my hcg and progesterone levels drawn. I'm supposed to get redrawn on Monday, but I have to work (I work 12 hour shifts) and won't be able to go back until Wednesday. Anyways, just wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience and what your outcome was. Thanks for listening, ladies!

My two experiences with heavy spotting/bleeding have not been good. However, I know a lot of ladies have it and go onto a healthy pregnancy. Sometimes bleeding can be a SCH, which is a blood clot behind the placenta. Low progesterone can also be a culprit for spotting. Do you know your lab results yet? If your progesterone is low, they'll probably place you on a supplement. The thing about betas is that they want them as close to 48 hours apart as possible to see if they're doubling correctly. They should be able to extrapolate a doubling time, but I would try to get in as quickly as possible.

What if you take another pregnancy test? I'm not sure of how they work in this aspect but if somethin not good has happened, maybe it will say negative :-/ Hoping all is well!

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. My only experience with spotting and bleeding was not good. I will say though, that it never tapered off or stopped. My spotting turned into bleeding which turned into a m/c. So perhaps the fact that it stopped on its own at first is a good sign?

I hope your blood test results give you some positive news!

Thanks ladies! I appreciate your kind words. They haven't notified me of my results yet. Since I'm still breastfeeding my son, I wonder if that is affecting my progesterone levels? Who knows. I thought about taking another pregnancy test, but I'd rather just wait until they draw my second set of labs. I'm trying to remain hopeful, but I always think worst case scenario! I guess the fat that i'm not having any cramping is a good sign.

I totally freaked out today over bleeding. Around 11:30 I went to the bathroom and there was bright red blood in the toilet, so I called the Dr. They weren't very concerned because I'm not cramping and told me to just keep an eye on it. I'm stressed out about it though b/c I've had 2 MCs in the past. Its 3:30 now and I haven't seen any other signs (no blood, no cramps), so I'm hoping it's nothing. I hope yours is nothing as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us. Keep me posted hun, I'd like to know what your doc says.

Just an update, ladies. So my bleeding has increased A LOT. Like a heavy period with lots of clots and a lot of cramping. I got my second progesterone and hcg levels drawn this morning. I spoke with the NP this morning and she said it definitely sounds like I'm having a miscarriage

and that hopefully I can pass everything naturally without needing a D&C. And to put the icing on the cake, my good friend just had her baby on Saturday, and she wanted me to be with her at the hospital to help her get thru the labor and to coach her with pushing (I'm an L&D nurse). So that was a bit rough because that is when I started bleeding more heavily and passing large clots, but I just had to be by her side!
I know everything will work out and that this is all part of God's plan. I'm hoping that my OB will clear us to start TTC again right away. Thank you all so very much for your kind words and support

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I had a miscarriage in September at 9w and it was pretty rough emotionally. You're a good friend to help your friend through labor. Take some time to rest. Many hugs, thoughts and prayers!
