I am a FTM (23 weeks with di/di twin girls) and overwhelmed by the baby carrier options out there...and underwhelmed by the twin options. If I can even just nail down a carrier for one baby at a time, that would at least help me some...I think. Or I could grow an extra pair of arms
1. We are hoping to take a trip with the LO's before they are 2 months. Any ideas on wraps/carriers that would be helpful for me to be able to manuever outside with two babies?
2. For future use (when they have neck control, etc.), does anyone have suggestions on backpack carriers for hiking with babies?
3. So which do you prefer...Ergobaby or baby Bjorn? Something else? Any preference? Why?
Re: Which baby carrier do you love?
Right now I much prefer the fit of the Becco. My babies are 10-11 lbs. and 3+ months. My husband also likes the Becco better. I don't have experience carrying bigger kids in either, but the Ergo can carry more weight.
I've read the ergonomics of the Bjorn are not recommended.
3/22 ER: 25R, 20M, 15F. 9 genetically normal, and 3 survived to Day 5

4/25 1st ultrasound at 7 weeks = identical twins with heartbeats?!!!
Backpack carrier: we have a Kelty and love it. Lots of built-in storage too for all those diapers you'll need on long hikes. It had a lot of good back support. The only negative is it takes some time to adjust between users. Definitely get one with the "kickstand."

I haven't had my twins yet, but for my son we used the Ergo extensively. My husband also wore it a lot. We are thinking about getting a second one for the twins.
As for a hiking backpack, we have a Deuter pack. It's amazing and not too hard to switch between my 6'+ husband and I (5'-6"). We went hiking in Switzerland with our son in the fall and didn't bring a stoller on the trip. This pack worked perfectly for airport travel, walking around town and hiking.
K'tan is my favorite for a wrap type carrier and love my ergo!
