How did you find out?

How did you find out you were pregnant?

Re: How did you find out?

  • DH and I had been trying for almost a year. We were due to leave for vacation on friday. So he says "just test so that you know if you can drink or not!" I told him it was silly and that it would be negative like the other 500 tests I had taken. So i POAS and left it on the sink I was washing my hands and looked down to see a FAINT pink second line. I was like UMM is this really there or am I seeing things?!!

  • We had been trying for a couple months. We were in Temecula, CA on a wine tasting trip with friends, and I went to the bathroom a million times over one night and had a massive headache I couldn't shake. I stopped tasting immediately and went to the store and got a test, I got a barely there BFP. The rest is history. :)

  • We had been trying for almost two years and were kinda on a "break" from TTC.  I was spotting which isn't really normal for me, especially since I had spotted a little the week before too, so I knew something was off.  We were having a going away part for a friend that weekend so I thought I'd better test before I drank my face off and, what do you know, it was positive!  I was in such disbelieve I just sat there and laughed and laughed.  H was still at work so I drove over there to show him.  I couldn't wait another hour until he got home.  Lol.
  • @jkep5909 It's perfectly normal to sit in your bra and eat doritos and sour cream!!! All the cool kids do it!

I was being lazy in bed one morning during the weekend while my husband was out cycling.  I was to pick him up in another town later that morning.  I had cramps earlier that week, so I thought I was waiting on my period.  I realized it never came so I took a test, and voila!  I took a picture of it, went to the town I was supposed to pick him up in, bought a tiny baby bib, and had it for him when I picked him up.  He said "What have we done?!?"

  • We were trying :) For one cycle. I started charting and temping right off the bat, wanted to see what my body was doing and up the chances right away.  I felt "off" at 10dpo and tested, was negative.. felt more and more off.. waited two days, and got a positive!!   Just one cycle, so super lucky!  I tested and brought the test to H because it was super faint..  so we sat there for 10 minutes holding it up to the light :P   Ahhh memories..

  • Was 10dpo before your period was due? I am rally retarded when it comes this this. I'm so glad you retested! I would have been stubborn about it.
  • Yup, before my period was due.  Like 4 days or so?  So it was early. But I just felt sooooo different, I knew I was.  The test just needed to tell me so 2 days later ;)

  • We'd been trying for a year, I'd been temping and keeping track of the days so I knew when I could test. I was tired of seeing BFNs so I waited a day or two later than I normally would see AF, so I was pretty hopeful but trying not to be. DH wanted me to tell him when I would be testing so the night before I told him if AF hadn't shown up in the morning I would test. I woke up, tested, saw a super faint line, looked again, yep still there, crawled back into bed and whispered DH's nickname, and he said, "That's good [my nickname]." And then I probably cried a little. Or maybe a lot. :)
  • I had a loss in February, waited the three cycles to start trying, had another loss in June, waited two cycles to start trying and got pregnant that August.

Needless to say, I was peeing on a stick pretty much at 7DPO all three times DH and I really tried to get pregnant, so I found out at 10DPO in August.  The second line was SO FAINT that neither of us really believed it.  I peed again that night on a digi, and it was positive.  We were both happy, but it was so different than our first pregnancy, we were so much more cautious.

I'd had a CP in March and got my BFP in July. So we also cautiously happy. I was pretty much a nervous wreck until we saw that little blob on the u/s, actually.
  • I had what seemed like PMS from Hell and took a test expecting a negative since usually I'd get a period pretty soon after testing. Instead I got a positive for the first time in 2yrs of TTC since our loss. It came at a time I felt emotionally ill-prepared (we were on the verge of taking a break for a month or two) but now having lived through it the timing feels right to have had Owen that year.
  • Was I seriously the only one who had an unplanned ("calculated risk" as I like to say) pregnancy??

I was expecting my period on a Thursday, even had some cramps that day. Then it didn't show. But it was Easter weekend and I was at the beach so it wasn't even a thought.  Although I did eat like 4 bananas that weekend and I usually don't like them (side note: ds freaking LOVES bananas). Then Monday I realized I hadn't had it yet, so 4 days late. POAS and called my bff in shock. I found out at like 10 in the morning and had to wait until 8 that night to tell dh because of our schedules.

  • We were actively TTC 1 month. I thought that I would have trouble because I'm overweight, had a prior MC, have PCOS and both my mom and sister dealt with infertility for several years. The morning we left I took a test and it was negative.

I spent several days in theme parks drinking copious amounts of booze and caffeine, getting a wicked sunburn, riding all the rides, and spotting the whole time. My period isn't regular so I thought it would show up any day. I still hadn't had a full on period so the night I got back I tested again and BFP.

  • I had been charting ( miscarriage a few months prior and it was the first month I felt ok about trying again)...so I POAS and voila.
