Blogging

Does anyone here have a blog?

What made you start it? Was it just for fun or do you have any financial gain from ads?
Do you try to get followers or is it more for your family & friends?
How often do you post...do you reply to any/all comments?
Basically tell me all about it.

And please feel free to shamelessly plug your blog in this thread. I'm always looking for inspiring things to read. :)

Re: Blogging

  • I use a personal blog. I don't post it anywhere. DH reads it. I started it to get all my thoughts out. I sometimes write in a hardcover journal, but it's so much more convenient online.

  • I started a blog a while back when I was running and after I got pregnant I basically stopped. I then started a pregnancy blog but did a terrible job keeping up with that. That blog is expectingbabyc.blogspot.com. maybe if i have more readers I'll actually write :)

I totally planned on starting one when I was pregnant with DD1. I picked a name for my blog and set it up. However when DD1 got here I was so overhelmed I never actually blogged.

I have been meaning to actually start using it and writing.... Even If my husband is the only reader.

  • I have a blog that makes me money from Google Adsense. By making money I mean $100 in 5 years. Lol!

I respond to all comments, which aren't too frequent. I have developed close online friendships with other bloggers that I follow and they, in turn, follow mine.

It was very therapeutic for me to create something beautiful, like a scrapbook of sorts. I don't blog often since LO was born but I really want to get back into it. My blog pic in my signature is clicky.
  • I started my blog more than a year ago.  I try to post at least once a week. I have a little over 70 posts total, so not that many.  It's my understanding that you have to have at least 200 posts to be considered a blogger.

I don't make money off of it, but I hope maybe someday I will.  I get a lot of clicks from Facebook and a good share from Pinterest.

My blog started off as way to fill our family and friends in on our lives since we don't live close to home. We also wanted to share DIY projects with buying our first home.  Since DD was born, the blog has been dominated by baby posts.
