Anyone using Gerber Good Start Soothe?

We 90% breastfeed but we supplement and I was told thru a friend to try this formula because my other two children who were completely formula fed were both on Alimentum. She swears by this Soothe from Gerber to save $. Anyone have any experience with it?? Thanks!!!!!!

Re: Anyone using Gerber Good Start Soothe?

  • My doctors office recommended this after the similac spit up was making LO gassy. We will switch to it if the similac sensitive upsets his tummy again.

  • I bought some but it left huge clumps of formula. She's now on nutramigen though. I also bought some gerber sensative and it left clumps as well

  • My doc recommended it as well.  It seems to be working fine, spit up still happens but the projectile spit up seems to have calmed down a bit.  However, it isn't much cheaper than Similac.

  • We did the Similac Sensitive and it was not working out for us. We then tried the Gerber Gentle and HOLY cow that was worse than the Similac Sensitive so we have about 2-3 bottles worth of the Gerber Gentle left and then are going to be trying this Gerber Soothe.....I hope it helps the issues we have. I wish I could just breastfeed 100% of the time but I cant so I need something that wont upset her tummy, If I must I will pay the $ and just buy Alimentum but I am REALLY looking to cut costs so if this Gerber Soothe works the way I was told it will then I would much rather pay for that. Thanks for your reply ;)
  • DS's GI doc recommended it for his GERD. Hoping to not need it and just control via diet with BFing for DD. Definitely saved the budget tho with DS!

  • pinkshoes1975 I am not sure what area your in but here in Nebraska I notice quite a bit of difference $ wise between the Similac products and the Gerber.
  • With the Gerber Gentle it mixed up so well, really smooth so thanks for the heads up about this clumping issues but it sounds like its going to be a formula closer to Alimentum and it clumped pretty badly so I will keep my eyes out for that issue on the Soothe. Thanks for your replies girls!!!!
  • Lurking from Jan 14 here. My DS was put on Gerber Gentle in the NICU. When we got home, I noticed a lot more spit up with powder than milk. I agree that powder had a lot of clumps. We have been exclusively given him ready to feed and my, what a difference. Unfortunately, it's more expensive but you may want to try and see if there is any difference with your child.
  • We switched from Similac Sensitive to Gerber Soothe and Julia does much better with it. I only notice a little bit of clumping and it hasn't really been an issue. She does seem to have more poopy diapers since switching, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's not much cheaper than Similac where I live but I look for sales and stock up or buy it on a Amazon.
