Anyone can answer this I guess. I think that you teach swimming though Amy. I'm looking into a parent and tot swim class. What should LO wear? Do most babies wear a swim diaper with trunks over that? Does he need a rash guard shirt for an indoor pool? Thanks!

I'm not mrs.amydylan, but we are doing swim lessons and have been since G was 4 months. Our facility has a double diaper policy, meaning that you need to use two; one-time use or reusable is fine. I usually did one throw-away underneath and a reusable on top. I would check with your place on their policy. When he was a little older, I put swim trunks over those. I didn't use a rash guard and we were in an indoor heated pool. No sun to worry about and rash guards seem to make them colder because they hold the water against their skin after you get out.

Thanks to both of you for the replies! I will call again to check the diapering policy. Now I just need to worry about what I'll wear since I haven't been in a suit since pre bump.

Hey there kaf! Yes, the other gals are right. I typically do a suit over the diaper. For J I just do the reusable swim diaper, but check pool policy. I wouldn't do a rash guard for an indoor pool.

Be sure to have an extra swim diaper with you because a poopy diaper doesn't have end fun in the pool if you can do a quick change!

Also, swim diapers are only designed to hold solids. Thus, don't put O in the Carseat with only a swim diaper! I typically get J in her swim diaper and suit at home (we live a mile from the pool) and put a diaper over her bottoms. It looks odd, but I just have to whip off her over diaper and hop in!
