Sorry ladies - I'm totally behind today! Feel free to post here and I'll be back with the proper post later this afternoon!

What are your plans for this week?

 What's your long-term/mid-term goal?

GTKY: With winter weather penetrating (giggity!) further south than normal -what's your favorite snow day activity?

And the (really rather late) leaderboard - everybody is still tied!!  Way to go ladies!!
@Acrosthec - Fingers crossed that the weather cooperated and you finally got to give the stroller a whirl!
@kdc2007 - Hope things went well with your trainer!

@NicoleReed0324 - First turbofire - now a treadmill - you know all the right tools to help your weightloss!  Way to go!!
@phishgirl29 - Well done exercising on vacation!  Hope it continues to be lovely :-)
@Pitchslap - I really can't think of anything but this guy after reading your update ;-)

Re: ~*~Tuesday's Getting Healthy Check-In~*~

  • Last week I ran 5 days! I'm getting addicted. It feels so good.

This week, I am working 3pm-11pm so I have baby during the day. He does not like the treadmill. I am doing Week 3 and 4 of Jillian Michaels "Ripped in 30" I forgot about this one.. It's no joke. My arms are sore! But MJ like watching me do it so I hope to finish the week with it. Back to running next week!

Goal is tighten tummy and be bikini-ish ready by July vacation. I am pretty soft so it might never happen, but that's okay. Every crunch helps!

We have tons of snow and negative temps in Pittsburgh this week! I just like snuggling by the fire and staying in comfy clothes all day!

  • Last week- Kept at the diet and got a couple more runs in.

This week- Today was my 30 day weigh, measure, picture. I am down 2.8lbs over the last 30 days and 3 inches. Not as much as I had hoped. But, I saw zero movement the first 2 weeks. So, really that's not terrible for 2 weeks. Just plan to keep at the running and really watching what I eat.

Goal- I have a 5k I do every year at the end of March. I'd like to do it and not do terrible. And, of course get the last bit of this weight off.

QOTW- I've been a northerner my whole life and the only activity I celebrate is winter coming to an end. Screw this weather.
  • last week- SUCKED! LO had a cold and the weather here was terrible, so I only got to the gym once and on 1 outdoor run. I did keep up with the plank and squats though and did weights at home when I could.

this week- I have already been to the gym twice and ran outside once. I am feeling much better.

Goal- I would like to loose this weight, I am running a marathon the first weekend in May. I do it every year and it is my favorite race of the year. Lat year however, I did the 10km.

QOTW- I love snowshoeing, my parents have a huge field behind them and I take the dog and go out for an hour.

  • Thanks @ttwalters !! I feel the best I have felt in years. I am fitting in jeans that also haven't fit in years! I want to be a good healthy example for MJ. Breastfeeding has caused me to lose weight without crazy dieting. This is really a first for me. I have lost 80 pounds since giving birth and sometimes it has felt so SLOW. But hopefully this is the start of a long happy life of being healthy and keeping the weight off!

That is frickin amazing! 80lbs! you should be so proud of yourself! I think it is also so important to set examples to our little ones about living a healthy active lifestyle, it is a life long journey!

  • Last week I was away but we did a lot of walking in malls and at a huge zoo.  DH got to take me to the gym 3 consecutive days and he kicked my butt in a good way.  I miss those days!

This week, I've not done much because I'm planning on returning to work next week.  I'll try and hit a spin class on Thursday.

Goal is to tone up still!

My favorite snow day activity is to be extremely lazy and do nothing.  If I can I'll cook something like cookies or cake to make the house smell awesome!

  • W@tiffletons518, congrats on the inches lost, that is impressive! I need your will power.
@tttwalters Thanks :) My willpower came from a picture of me when DD2 was 4 months old. I had just finished my first round of Insanity and was a good 10lbs lighter than I am now. Tooting my own horn, I looked great. Lol. Max was almost 7 months when I found the picture. I wasn't even sad, I was pissed. I am being super strict with my diet, which truthfully I hate because I love food. But, I also desperately need to feel like myself again. I wish I had your willpower with running. I was hoping to do my first half in March before I wounded myself. Lol. I don't know that I'll ever do a full. The longest run I've ever done was a touch over 8 miles. I can't imagine doing more than triple that. Sort of nauseating.ha.

The half is my favorite distance, challenging yet not super impossible to train for. Although, 3 kids and a husband who works crazy hours, I feel like anything would be pretty impossible to train for. I feel like I am going to start to have to really restrict my food, ugh, why does food taste so good?

The other night I did one of my dvds while my H was home. Max was trying to chase my shoelaces and then DD2 was trying to do jumping jacks with me, which resulted in her running into me and me stepping on her. My H was like, how do you do this when I'm not here? Me- Very carefully and sometimes I don't. Lol. And, food makes me sooooooo happy. I just want to eat pizza and brownies and still get skinny. I don't think that's too much to ask.
  • @kdc2007 The nearest trader joe's is about 45 minutes away. I've never been :(

my little brother is a sub 3 hour marathoner, he is a vegetarian that dislikes most vegetables. All I have seen him eat in the last year has pretty much been beer and ice cream. He doesn't have an ounce of fat on him, maybe we should consider that diet?

Good grief. I think his diet sounds much better than mine. I am so tired of Oatmeal, grilled chicken, and cottage cheese. lol
  • I haven't checked in in a while, I was in a slump! Now I'm back to babysitting other kids on Tuesdays so I never get any bump time.
Anywho, last week I did awesome- daycare was open for MLK day and a snow day for work on Wednesday so I was able to run on the treadmill twice for 4 miles, then do a 5 and 4 mile on Saturday and Sunday. 4 days if running is a two year record for me! I also am doing the squat and plank challenge. Diet has been good. People at work said I am skimming down. Thank god! Finally some pay off!

This week: stitch with watching my diet. I am trying to workout too but not stressing about it as I really need to catch up on sleep if I can. When I don't get a bonus snow day during the week I am burning the candle at both ends.

Goal: get my kid to sleep through the night so I can go back to working out around 5 am before work or child rearing. I can't count on three kids napping at the same time for 2 hours so if it doesn't happen in the am its not happening!

Snow day activity: sex and a winter gear run. If the kids are involved than I guess pajama day with a Pixar movie. And sledding on the hill behind our house, but DH has been taking DS1 since Arlo is too little to enjoy playing in the snow!
