Cravings

Hello ladies!
I was just wondering what everyone was craving (if anything) so far? I thought it might be fun to see if there were any common themes and how things change/progress as we go along! 

Here is my list so far:
--BLT sandwich (usually I really dislike bacon, so it surprised me, especially because I didn't know I was pregnant at the time!)
--real-fruit strawberry popsicles
--fresh berries (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, etc.)

  • Pizza....again. Ugh. I so do not want to be a whale again this time.. not like I've eaten much pizza though. Just have had a lot of bread because it keeps me from getting sick. Not much else yet though.

  • Meat!! I've been a Vegetarian for a while now, but I'm seriously needing a steak. Low iron maybe?? All I know is I must have a ribeye
  • I have been craving fish and chips, with lots and lots of tarter sauce.  I am usually not a fish lover.  I still haven't given in to the craving, but I'm seriously going to have to soon because it's really starting to dominate my thoughts.  DH thinks I'm crazy.

  • The only weird one was hard boiled eggs. I had never even made one before, and one day my hubby comes home and sees I made a ton and is like wth... :) This was before the BFP too, but I've made them several times since. Bizarre.

  • But once I satisfy the craving, it's gone. 
    This, exactly! Well, except for my real-fruit popsicles (which I suppose isn't a bad one to have since they are just frozen fruit). I am just glad I don't want BLT's anymore because the smell of bacon made me nauseous before getting pregnant! 

    As for cravings, I am adding tacos to my list, and iceberg lettuce + tomato salads with no dressing (typically I go for fancy spinach salads, but for some reason iceberg is the fix this week...too bad because it isn't as healthy, but it just tastes so good right now!!). 

    And this isn't so much a craving, as just a surprising change. I used to love potatoes, I could eat them any way! Now, potatoes are one food I don't want to have anything to do with. DH made an amazing Thai curry soup last night, and all I could taste was the potatoes :( A few months ago that would have been wonderful but now it is just disappointing. Is anyone else finding they have aversions to the foods they normally enjoy?

  • nothing yet.  Last time it was Iced Coffee w/ lots of cream & sugar, McDs sausage biscuits and burgers.  Also sweets all day everyday, but I have a major sweet tooth anyway.

  • Omg I must have fish and chips now. I've been dying for them from a restaurant back home. I don't want the crap fish and chips they have here in CT. I just want some damn haddock or cod!

  • CARBS CARBS CARBS!! Also, crab legs. I could seriously eat crab legs all day long. and Texas Roadhouse Buns- not food from there at all, just the buns. 
  • The other day, PB&J was the topic of conversation. And I couldn't stop thinking about it but I was out and only one store, and of course not one that is near me, carries my PB (I have a nut allergy so it's actually Sun Butter). But my darling SIL brought me some last night and I've had like three sandwiches since then.

    Other than that, flan. And I've only had it once in my life, on Christmas. But I can't stop thinking about it!!

  • A few days before BFP (even though I suspected I was) I began craving Whoppers. I seriously had 3 in 4 days. That craving has since gone away. Now it's just random stuff. Tacos, then pb&j, then dill pickles, tonight was breakfast for dinner with bacon of course. But once I satisfy the craving, it's gone. Which is a good thing really. I do not want to know what kind of weight I would put on if I craved whoppers for the next 9 months...
    Me too! Me too! It is just random things, but right now I am completely stuck on a chocolate milkshake. For the past week, it is all I can think about. But not a McDonald's one, like a real one with real ice cream. But it is cold and I don't want to bundle my kids up to go somewhere and get one and quite frankly, I do not want to share it with them either, so I'm just dreaming about it for now.

  • So with my DS I craved fruit fruit and more fruit! This time around it's been grilled chicken and salads! And the other day I has to have a chili cheese dog with onions! :)
  • 5wks 2days: Spicy, spicy, and more spicy! Cannot get enough. I loved it before, but this is over kill. And ice cream, together. Jalapenõ chips and any flavore ice cream is the absolute best right now. And juice. Love my apple juice right now!
  • Hard Boiled Eggs, Pizza, PB&J's, & red onions. Yuuum!

    I told H this, and he brought me home a fish sandwich and fries from McDonalds.  I have never in my life eaten a fish sandwich from McDonalds, and I was like, this doesn't cut it, but I ate it anyway, and it was okay.  Did not resolve the desire for fried fish tho.
  • 7 wks, 3 days:  So far, in between the bouts of morning sickness, I've really been craving fruity, tarty, sour things.  I've been mainly eating oranges, strawberries, grapes, raspberries, green apples...things like that. Anything lemony is good too.

    Complete aversion to cheese and really any kind of meat.  I had to go to the grocery store over the weekend (to get more fruit), and had to walk past the cheese row.  GROSS!!!!  I gagged all the way to the back where the fruit was.  Why...oh why....can't they keep fruit at the front of the store!  LOL!

    Now I'm afraid to go to any restaurant...if I get even the slightest hint of cheese or meat I start gagging.

  • Blueberry bagels, cantaloupe, and cucumbers with French dressing. But that's this week. Last week was completely different and the week before was different too. Making grocery shopping pretty tough!

  • Bloomin' Onions from Outback and scrambled eggs like nobody's business! The good news is that eggs are the only thing my SO can cook and man does he make a mean scrambled egg!
  • Today it is sesame bagels with veggie cream cheese. I swear, it is something different every day! And for some reason, hot chocolate made with almond milk really helped with my nausea this morning. No idea why, but it worked like a miracle!

  • BBQ Fritos. I ate half a bag yesterday, oops! And bread. I keep thinking about all kinds of bread but I haven't caved to that one much.

  • Protein, protein, protein. Last night I had ground beef with taco seasoning, avocado, and a poached egg on top with salsa. Man, it hit the spot.

    I would kill for their rolls!!! I need like a whole batch and a tub of their cinnamon sugar butter. I would bathe in that shit. Delicious.

  • Tacos- that is what made me think I was pregnant lol, I craved tacos pretty much my whole pregnancy last time.

    Also, salad with Ranch and Dr. Pepper.

  • I didn't even make it past half page one and all of a sudden I'm dying for some Mac and Cheese... Oy this is going to be a long 9 months.
  • I really want to go to McDs, get chicken nuggets and a plain hamburger, toss the hamburger, and make a chicken nugget sandwich. Yum yum yum. My favorite!

    That is so funny that you said this because I was planning on making mac and cheese with tomatoes for dinner tonight! I am looking forward to trying a new recipe :)

  • Smoothies, red beans and rice with sausage and Freebirds burritos. Pregnancy makes me hate bread. I normally love it, but when I'm pregnant, if I have something with bread and I get a bite of just bread, I WILL vomit.

  • When I can eat, my cravings change all the time. At the beginning, even before BFP it was Vegetable Soup. I've also had cravings for oranges and M&M McFlurry's. One night I had to have Runts (the banana ones!) and strawberry wafers. Just weird, random stuff that changes day to day and once I've had it, it's over. On to the next thing.

  • Tofu scramble wrap from a restaurant called Terri in NY. Smoothies with raw almond butter and bananas. Mmmm
  • Surprisingly the only breakfast I can keep down is something my DH always makes himself.. peanut butter toast with a cooked egg on top. I always gave him a hard time and said it looked disgusting.. well when m/s struck I had a strange urge to make one for myself.. now it's all I can eat. Go figure!

    Other than that, chicken nuggets with rice & peas.

    Thats basically my diet, and it's killing me because I love veggies and salad.. I just can't seem to stomach them right now.
  • I'm I think 5w pregnant and alls I want is fried chicken and then there will be times I want chocolate.

    I feel like I'm a pig because for the last week since I found out this last Sunday I was pregnant I have been non stop eating kinda. I got to stop that otherwise I will gain more weight than I should.

    I haven't been pregnant for 7y but when I was pregnant with my first alls I wanted was watermelon but it was winter and I could not get it and when Summer hit I didn't want it lol
  • I want: those little Lipton rice sides - only the cheddar broccoli kind, chicken flavored ramen noodles, and chocolate milkshakes (hold the whipped cream). I puke at all meat, and sadly many fresh foods, which was all I was eating before the bfp.

  • So lately for me it has been apples. I cannot get enough apples! I guess this is one craving that might stick with me (like the popsicles) because it has been a few weeks and no matter how many days in a row I try to get an apples, I still want more! Better than some cravings I have had though. At least fruit is a healthy snack! I just wish apples were more in season because they taste so much better in the fall and I have an Pick-Your-Own Apple Orchard right up the road from me. Maybe my September baby is already embracing their fall due date because, lets be honest, fresh apples are pretty much the best thing nature has to offer in the fall--especially when you get to pick your own!
