Hey there. I don't frequently post and my ticker is outdated. I'm posting about DS, almost 2.5 years old.
He has a big vocabulary, very clear pronunciation, and asks questions like "what's that dog eating/doing? " and "Who's that pushing a lawnmower". He talks a lot, especially at home and can communicate needs. He also expresses observations "That is a big truck!".
My concern is answering questions. I say "DS, did we go to the park?" He says "Did we go to park?" If I remind him to answer me he will say "Yeah". But I'm reminding a lot. It's gotten much better with answering a question at meal time. Ex: "Do you want some milk?" He will now say "Yeah" or "Yes Please" half of the time without a reminder and is very quick to correct himself if I say "answer me". I guess meals have more concrete questions compared to him having to answer about having been to the park. He can answer questions about events in a book we read.
Thank you for reading. Would this concern you enough to go for a speech evaluation or would you keep reminding and practicing for 2 more months or so?
