How to make a bassinet in pack n play comfortable

So Im really trying to get our LO to sleep in the bassinet pack and play - which he does. However he was in the rock n play sleeper and would sleep about 3-4 hours then wake, but in the bassinet PNP he slept only 2 hours last night. I want him in the bassinet bc 1) ive heard mixed things in the RNP sleeper with a recall and mold? And 2) that they can get a flat head and they arent stretching out etc. Also we had to put an angled wedge in bassinet PNP bc he spits up if laying flat on his back. I swaddle him in the zip up sleeper swaddlers but any other ideas how to make the bassinet more comfortable and safely? :/ TIA :)

  • We had the same problem with the pnp bassinet and ended up just moving her to her crib because she was much more comfortable there. Sorry, this probably wasn't helpful but that's what we did!

  • My friend text me this the other day...
  • I swaddle little one and then pack a fluffy blanket around where his legs are. He likes to feel secure and snuggled. His favorite place is on our fluffy comforter, so this works well for us.

  • I don't know if it really made a difference but we bought a sheet for the bassinet part. We also did a rolled up towel on one end. Like pp mentioned I think the crib is just as "comfy" so we switched her at 7 weeks. She was also in RNP for the first month but I had the same concerns as you.

  • I'm on mobile so I can't see how old your lo is but I'd just move to crib if that is your long term spot. The pnp has a thin mattress. Crib mattress is much better.
We have been in pnp since ds came home but we are now moving to the crib. We have a quilted pad in there which made it softer.

  • Thank you! He is 5 weeks old. The pnp sheets suck - thin and not very soft ... I can see if they have a quilted cover for pnp mattress .... Our crib is all set and ready to go with a quilted pad too. We may have to suck it up and just move him in there now. Not sure what is "normal" timing to switch to a crib or if everyones timing is just different :/ thank you again
  • This probably isn't SIDS- approved but my sister wrapped her pnp mattress with a fleece blanket. Her husband cut it to fit and then they tucked it under
  • Thank you again - great ideas :) and knowing others do them too makes me feel better ;)
